Almost ready to walk around Vichy with Empress Eugénie and Queen Victoria for the Fêtes Napoléon III 2026. All it took is:
2 seamstresses,
4 sewing machines,
6 yards of petticoat,
8 weekends of sewing,
10 days till the Fêtes Napoléon III,
12 meters of cartridge pleating,
14 meters of black velvet and navy lace!

Yesterday I was finally able to try on all the elements of my mid 19th century (second empire / victorian / civil war era) day ensemble together. It's giving major Gone With The Wind vibes and I love it! 🥰
I won't be able to make a day bodice in time for the Fêtes Napoléon III that will take place in less than two weeks so this blouse I found on Vinted will have to do for this time...
I actually find a lot of my accessories on Vinted including the chatelaine I got from the lovely lady I am linking below. I invite you to check her out as she makes amazing chatelaines and sells them at a good price. ❤️

On top of singing in the show 1900 (back in 2023) I used to help other girls by doing their hair.
Here are a few of the historical hairstyles I gave some of the girls. I did a lot of variations of 1900s pompadour hairstyles and gibson girl hairstyles based on historical research.

On top of helping me make my mid 19th century (Late 185s to early 1860s) gown, my mom has been making my boyfriend's costume.
Here you can see the chemise with a starched detachable collar, a lavaliere that matches my dress, a lovely waistcoat (it still needs buttons), and a dark frock coat.
Please correct me if I miss label things... I am still learning the correct names of men's historical clothes.

The dress featured in the third picture is my ballgown. I will be wearing a day dress too and for the evening we will be wearing evening clothes. We're not quite done making those though...

Can't seem to be able to choose between these two laces... What do you think?

I was extremely tired today and unable to work properly on my costume. Now that the temperature is nice I can sew peacefully while hearing crickets and frogs in the distance. My grandma's bunny is also keeping me company.

I asked if I should add a bow at the back and you all said yes !
Now all that's left to do in order to finish this victorian bonnet is sew on the ribbons that will tie (in a bow) at the front under my chin.
PS: Please don't mind my chemise, I was getting ready to put on my corset to take some more measurements... 😅

I need help please !
Should I add a bow there on my victorian bonnet or not ?

Making a hat to match my mid 19th century gown.
It's still not done but it will look amazing.
I used a basic straw hat that I cut into the right shape and am now sewing all the decorations by hand.

Le moment très touchant où une adorable petite fille est venue me faire un câlin 😻
