There have been so many new people here over the last few days that I just wanted to say hello with my august photo dump
1. Me in my little paradise
2. This is Betty one of our chickens, she loves humans and freedom
3-5. We worked almost the whole summer in our ruine to create a cozy terrasse. My mediterranean courtyard
6-8. We live in the geographic center of Brittany. The bad thing: You need to drive around an hour to reach the coast. The good thing: you need just one hour to reach all breton coasts: Biskaya, celtic sea, english channel
9. this month I finally tested some french clay. I will always import my beloved black clay from Germany but I was looking for some creamy brown coloured clay for myself and my pottery courses. I think I found it.
10. summer is also the time for my pottery workshops. Just you and your 1-2 besties and a studio in the nature.
11. I am chaotic, but sometimes I surprise myself. When something catches my attention, I’m right there. Like the solar eclipse. I’ve had the date in mind for a year, and I’ve been organising the protective glasses for weeks – long before most people even knew the solar eclipse was happening.
12. I’ve always dreamt of moving abroad. It hardly mattered where, but I never felt really at home in Germany, so moving to France was actually the best decision we could have made. There’s just one thing I underestimated: how much I’d miss my friends. Luckily, they pop round to see us at least once a year and turn our quiet country life for one week upside down.
13-14. I love summer, I live for summer. And when, in mid- to late August, the light suddenly changes, the evenings grow darker and the morning fog returns, I am overcome with a sense of melancholy at the approaching end of summer. A creeping case of the winter blues makes the weeks at the end of August the hardest of the year for me.
