Fondée en octobre 2010 par Rosario Caltabiano, la galerie 22,48 m² se veut un espace singulier d’exposition et un lieu de diffusion pour les œuvres contemporaines de la scène internationale, avec une attention toute particulière portée aux artistes français émergents. Depuis sa création, la galerie a ainsi organisé et produit plus de 70 expositions : certaines monographiques consa
crées aux artistes de la galerie, d’autres thématiques auxquelles prennent part des artistes extérieurs. Portant un regard ouvert aux nouvelles technologies, elles ont pour point commun un questionnement sur l’évolution de l’art contemporain. En collaboration avec des curateurs, critiques et artistes, 22,48 m² propose une programmation sous le signe de la pluridisciplinarité : y ont lieu, en dehors du cycle d’exposition périodique, des performances, des projections, des tables rondes, des présentations d’ouvrages et des activités d’atelier pour enfants et familles, dirigés par les artistes ou par des animateurs. La galerie 22,48 m² s'oriente ainsi principalement vers des activités touchant les champs de la critique, de la culture et de la pédagogie, propices aux échanges et aux rapprochements entre l’art d’aujourd’hui et le public. A travers son travail de recherche innovant, elle s’efforce de réfléchir à une vision nouvelle de la galerie d'art, et, dans ce sens, fait partie intégrante de la dernière génération d’acteurs du marché de l’art.
22,48 m² privilégie également un travail spécifique concernant l’édition : les catalogues de la galerie sont ainsi conçus et élaborés à la fois comme un lieu de réflexion autonome et en résonance avec les œuvres exposées. La galerie 22,48 m² a déjà participé, entre autres, au Parcours VIP de la FIAC depuis 2011, à NUIT BLANCHE (Paris), à la BIENNALE DE BELLEVILLE (Paris), et à plusieurs foires telles qu’ART-O-RAMA (Marseille), DRAWING NOW (Paris), LOOP (Barcelone), ART COLOGNE, ARTISSIMA (Turin), ART BRUSSELS , FIAC-(OFF)ICIELLE (Paris), ART ROTTERDAM, PAREIDOLIE (Marseille).

Founded in October 2010 by Rosario Caltabiano, gallery 22,48 m² strives to be a unique exhibition space and a venue for the diffusion of contemporary artworks within the international art scene. Since its opening, the gallery has organized and produced more than 70 exhibitions: monographic shows dedicated to the artists of the gallery, or thematic exhibitions featuring other artists. Open towards new technologies they are all marked by a critical engagement regarding the evolution of contemporary art. In collaboration with curators, critics and artists, 22,48 m² proposes a multidisciplinary program: apart from its regular exhibition program, the gallery organizes performances, screenings, round-tables, debates, presentations of selected artworks, and activities dedicated to children and families, led by artists themselves, or by specialised animators. Therefore, Gallery 22,48 m² focuses mainly on activities linked to critical, cultural, and pedagogical fields, bringing today’s art and public together. Through its innovating lines of research, it also tries to reflect a new vision of the art gallery and, in that way, acts like a key player within the latest generations of galleries in the art market.
22,48 m² also gives priority to specific and innovating work regarding publishing: 22,48 m²’s catalogues and publications are developed and designed both as spaces for autonomous thinking and as a tools that echo the exhibited works. As an active member of the gallery network «Grand Belleville», 22,48 m² has already taken part in the Parcours VIP of the FIAC every year since 2011, in NUIT BLANCHE (Paris 2013), in the Biennale de Belleville (Paris) and in several fairs such as ART-O-RAMA (Marseille), DRAWING NOW (Paris), LOOP (Barcelona), ART COLOGNE (2018), ARTISSIMA (Turin), ART BRUSSELS, FIAC-(OFF)ICIELLE (Paris), ART ROTTERDAM, PAREIDOLIE (Marseille).
