Svetlana Gencheva Art Work by Svetlana Gencheva Autrice-Illustratrice-Plasticienne

Together with the Japanese artist duo , Makoto Tagawa and Shinya Fukasawa ( ), in La Roche-Posay and Poitiers, France, we reached a new milestone in our research-creation journey around the augmented reality kamishibaï (紙芝居) The Story of My Life, based on the work of
Through performances, seminars, workshops, an exhibition, and public discussions, we explored traditional and digital forms of sequential storytelling to create new narrative experiences across cultures.

The art-based workshop Sun Prints of Interconnection with Nature, carried out in Totora, Bolivia, in collaboration with the Moyapampa Indigenous community of the Bartolina Sisa women’s organization, was conceived and conducted by Dr. Svetlana Gencheva and Alice Massone from the EcoLAWgy Research Centre (University of Liège), with facilitation by Eliana Alba and Norma Guillén from AGRUCO (Universidad Mayor de San Simón).

Engaging Moyapampa women, bearers of ancestral agrobiodiversity knowledge, the co-creative process of the workshop combines art, ecological knowledge, and storytelling to articulate relationships between plants, territories, and lived experiences through methodologies rooted in pre-cinematographic sequential art and cyanotype techniques. Funded by the Women4Biodiversity organization, the project forms part of the EcoLAWgy Research Centre’s decolonial, feminist, and art-based approaches to biodiversity governance and environmental justice, contributing through the presentation of the resulting artworks and a scientific poster at the EcoLAWgy side event during the Eleventh Session of the Governing Body (GB-11) of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA), held in Lima, Peru, in 2025

It’s such a pleasure to hold in our hands, together with Prof. Teodora Handjieva-Darlenska, her book on GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) with my cover infographic illustration ! Inspired by Scandinavian design, the graphic visualization of GLP-1 functionality and the cover design created by Dr. Svetlana Gencheva draw from the aesthetics of Bauhaus. Theorized in 1966 by György Kepes, this perspective portrays the world and biology as a harmonious set of clear and orderly structures—a landscape composed of organized processes, rhythmically arranged through precise shapes and lines. These elements interact and manifest symmetry, proportion, and modularity, establishing themselves as “ornamented structures” or “structured ornamentations.” Thank yo so much, Dolly!! Love ya
