I imagined a gust of wind sweeping through the material, carrying black and white in a single movement. A form shaped by the storm, caught between softness and strength. A small downy area on the stoneware body contrasts with its rougher surface.

This piece is inspired by the musk ox, an animal that amazes me with its powerful build and its ability to adapt to the cold. The video by Urs Hungerbühler deepened my understanding of this animal and helped me capture its powerful presence.

Although the musk ox is not endangered, it faces challenges linked to climate change. Warmer summers and freezing winter rain can form a thick layer of ice over the ground, making it harder for musk oxen to reach the vegetation they feed on.

Through my work, I seek to evoke emotion and invite reflection on the path our world has taken. Protecting the planet is essential. I also want to believe that we can still take action and refuse to give up.

Imaq — Immap Naasua — Flower of the Sea

This piece is inspired by the anemones of polar waters. Their vivid colours disrupt the apparent monochrome of polar landscapes.

Porcelain tentacles unfurl across the stoneware surface, as if carried by the currents of cold waters.

Inside, fragments of coral form an underwater landscape, a fragile architecture preserved at the heart of the piece.

It tilts under the force of the blizzard. The soft, downy surface of the stoneware contrasts with the long porcelain fringes, swept by the wind.

Inspired by cold-water corals, this piece evokes a rich, fragile and still little-known underwater world.
I took Imaq to the ocean and immersed it in the water, in the very element that inspired it. As the oceans warm, these ecosystems are under threat. With this piece, I wanted to reveal their beauty and vulnerability, as if the coral had slowly shaped its form.

The smaller Imaq is on view at the Serge Lesage showroom in Paris’s 6th arrondissement.

CARLOS ANDRÉS RAMÍREZ LÓPEZ | Reading What Places Remember

Places remember in ways we often overlook - through heat, cracks, moisture, erosion, and the slow changes that shape their surfaces. Carlos Andrés Ramírez López asks us to read these traces.

What happens to material after its first life? Ulyana Khokhlova explores transformation, reuse, and the possibilities that emerge when materials are allowed to become something else.

PATRICIO TEJEDO | The Material Consequence of Attention

Attention changes how we see material. Patricio Tejedo invites us to slow down and notice the surfaces, textures, marks, and quiet decisions that might otherwise go unseen.

KIM TAE | The Mountain Was Already There

Before the object, there was the material. Before the gesture, there was the landscape. Kim Tae’s work considers the relationship between making, material, and the forces that precede us.
