🎷 Jazz is taking over Luanda! 🇦🇴

BA Cultural Center is proud to support talent, creativity, and cultural exchange by contributing to musicians’ participation from Azerbaijan in the 5th edition of AngoJazz – International Festival, a celebration of music that brings cultures together and connects people through the universal language of jazz.

From October 20–25, Luanda will come alive with extraordinary musical encounters, featuring artists from 14 countries, including Angola, the United States, France, Spain , Italy, Brazil, Portugal, and Cuba, among others.

🎶 October 20 | Instituto Camões
Artistic residencies and workshops from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

🎺 October 22 | EPIC SANA Hotel – Sala Angola
The grand gala night begins at 8:00 PM, featuring a special concert by Lokua Kanza.

🌍 October 23–25 | Largo da Família, Talatona
Three days of open-air performances starting at 6:00 PM, celebrating cultural diversity and the power of music to bring communities together.

Pour notre deuxième atelier du Tapis de la Vie, nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir Dorothée Deudon, lainière par passion, pour une belle démonstration de transformation de la toison de brebis en fil.

De la toison lavée au filage au fuseau, chaque geste révèle un savoir-faire ancien et précieux. ✨

Un moment de transmission, de découverte et de partage autour de la laine et de nos patrimoines textiles.

For our second Le Tapis de la Vie workshop, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dorothée Deudon, a passionate wool artisan, for a beautiful demonstration of transforming sheep fleece into yarn.

From washed fleece to spinning with traditional Turkish spindles, every gesture carries an ancient and precious textile tradition. ✨

🇬🇧🎶 Throwback to the Silk Road Concert in Nigeria, 2018 🇳🇬🇦🇿

A memorable performance of “Komdenin Arzuları” (Dreams of Komde), a celebrated musical piece by renowned Azerbaijani composer Arif Melikov, from his 1981 ballet İki Qəlbin Dastanı (A Poem of Two Hearts).

The beautiful piece was performed by acclaimed tar player Sahib Pashazade and the talented pianist Saida Zulfugarova, who captivated the international audience in Nigeria with their artistry and musical interpretation.

The concert was organized by the BA Cultural Center, formerly known as Friends of Azerbaijan, in partnership with the Muson Centre.

A wonderful evening celebrating Azerbaijani music, culture, and the spirit of the Silk Road through music. 🎼✨
🇫🇷🎶 Retour sur le Concert de la Route de la Soie au Nigeria, en 2018 🇳🇬🇦🇿

Un souvenir mémorable avec l’interprétation de « Komdenin Arzuları » (Les Rêves de Komde), une œuvre musicale emblématique du célèbre compositeur azerbaïdjanais Arif Melikov, tirée de son ballet de 1981, İki Qəlbin Dastanı (Le Poème de deux cœurs).

A beautiful memory from our Silk Road concert in Nigeria in 2018, celebrating music, culture, dialogue, and international collaboration.

Before the concert, Mr. Gboyega Banjo, CEO of MUSON Centre, shared his thoughts on the importance of international partnerships and the vision behind the Silk Road project.

We are proud that BA Cultural Center had the opportunity to bring this idea and partnership to MUSON Centre, creating a meaningful bridge between cultures through music and artistic exchange.

We are grateful for this memorable collaboration and look forward to many more opportunities to build cultural connections and create together in the future.

Before the concert, we had the opportunity to speak with spectators and hear their thoughts, impressions, and expectations. Their curiosity and excitement reflected the power of cultural exchange to bring people together. ✨
