Quatre étudiants se rencontrent à l’Académie Royale des Beaux Arts d’Anvers, (école de Martin Margiela, Ann Demeulemeester ou encore de Dries Van Noten). Partageant une vision libre et ambitieuse de ce que peut être la mode, Peter Schamaun (Norvège), Henrik Hiltula (Suède), Alexis Gautier (France) et Edoardo Rossi (Italie) mettent en place le collectif Incipit. Forts de leurs différents héritages
culturels, ils développent une expression propre à chacun, mais restent liés par leurs envies et leur conception partagée de la mode. En 2012, ils mettent en place leur premier défilé itinérant et présentent leurs collections à Olso, Milan puis à Paris au terme d’un périple de 5000 km. Cette année, ils présentent leur collection de fin de diplôme. Les quatre collections sont accompagnées d’une présentation de photos et de vidéos d’artistes associés. Après un défilé à Stockholm et à Milan, Incipit sera à Paris le 25 septembre prochain à l'espace BETC, Passage du désir. Et si tout va bien, vous y serez aussi. INCIPIT Paris

INCIPIT est un collectif né de la nécessité de provoquer les frontières et d’avancer. Nous y avons mis nos tripes nos envies et nos nuits. Nous avons tous nos propres mondes, mais nous agissons en commun,
avec envie et sans raison. INCIPIT is a collective of four graduating fashion students, Alexis Gautier (France), Henrik Hiltula (Sweden), Edoardo Rossi (Italy) and Peter Schamaun (Norway), who met at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. As a group they share a coherent philosophy about fashion, but at the same time managing to keep their own individual substance and core to each create a different world. They are based as a fashion collective working individually and as a group towards different creative fields (film, photography, graphic design, illustration and installation). They believe that communication, friendship and curiosity will open to a much broader and expandable creative experience. The project allows them to grow their philosophy together, to share their work and to learn from each other and from the experience itself. In this way they build a platform to research ways of presenting and sharing their collections. This will not only mean how to learn to develop a collection, but also how to manage a own project commercially, financially and in terms of organization. Through this research they want to mould their knowledge, cultural backgrounds and experiences into a pathway for the future. The different nationalities they have makes it natural to show the upcoming collections in each home country and as young fashion designers learning the profession, there's no better way than to take it into their own hands.
