[Jennifer Caubet — Last day] Expectatives, solo show on view until June 13 Jennifer Caubet

« The final gallery space is occupied by suspended forms: tubes combining blown glass and perforated metal, evoking systems of ventilation or cooling. Balanced by metal counterweights reminiscent of Duchamp’s “malic moulds” - forms which “mould gas” in The Large Glass -, the installation evokes the fiction of a pneumatic laboratory, structured as much by void and circulation as by insulation and circulation. Rather than alluding to the factory of the future, Caubet’s work engages with the social fabric of the present - one in which the very freedom to breathe may be called into question in the name of maintaining order. »

In the [second] room of the gallery, the visitor is confronted with the hostile partition of an anti-squat panel. In counterpoint to « Diffractions » (Jennifer Caubet, 2023), Rétractions (2026) condenses a dense block of anti-burglary shutters and protective grilles, a security mass folded in on itself, an armoured device poised to unfurl like a spring, a structure of both vision and division recalling custody visiting rooms. In this sense, this work may be read as an “object of knowledge”’, as Michel Foucault defines it in his conception of what a system can
be, insofar as it is both an architectural arrangement and the outcome of regulatory decisions, laws, and administrative measures that have governed the design and standardisation of its elements.

Jennifer Caubet en conversation avec Tony Côme, historien du design et de l’architecture

Au cœur de l’exposition « Expectatives » et dans le cadre du Paris Gallery Weekend 2026, l’historien du design et de l’architecture Tony Côme (.come) est invité à dialoguer avec Jennifer Caubet () autour de son approche de la sculpture et des objets du quotidien. En détournant leur charge symbolique, l’artiste interroge leurs dimensions utopiques et dystopiques à travers les notions de contrainte, de flux et de circulation de l’air.

Docteur en histoire de l’art, Tony Côme a publié plusieurs essais portant sur les relations entre artistes, architectes, designers industriels et designers graphiques. Il enseigne à l’École des beaux-arts de Lyon et collabore de manière rapprochée avec les éditions B42.

Jennifer Caubet est diplômée de l’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris en 2008 après avoir suivi différentes formations à Toulouse, Barcelone et Tokyo. Grâce à des productions singulières avec des spécialistes, ingénieurs, architectes et entreprises, Jennifer Caubet amorce un travail de réflexion sur, dans et autour de l’espace, à travers la sculpture, l’installation et le dessin. Les formes et les lignes que Jennifer Caubet déploie, rejoue ou pose dans les espaces qu’elle traverse, inaugurent ainsi le lieu de l’œuvre et de l’exposition comme des territoires de relations non seulement construits mais à construire.

La galerie sera exceptionnellement ouverte le dimanche 31 mai de 14h à 18h, et Jennifer Caubet sera présente de 15h à 17h pour des rencontres et visites de l’exposition.

[Ange Leccia — Artizon Museum Ishibashi Fondation] ‘Monet: Questioning Nature’ at from February 6 to May 24, 2026.

Ange Leccia () presents the video arrangement (D’)Après Monet in the exhibition Monet: Questioning Nature, currently on view at the Artizon Museum in Tokyo, Japan through May 24, 2026. The work is shown in dialogue with 140 paintings by Claude Monet drawn from the collections of the Musée d’Orsay, the Artizon Museum, and other institutions. This exhibition marks the opening of a season of events commemorating the centenary of the Impressionist master’s death.

Created in response to the invitation for the contemporary Conterpoint exhibition at the Musée de l’Orangerie, and then readapted for his solo exhibition at Musée des Impressionismes Giverny, Ange Leccia’s video offers a reading of the polysemy of the Nymphéas by Claude Monet, grounded in the genesis of this monumental cycle and its relationship to the garden at Giverny, as well as to light and the changing seasons. The video arrangement composed by the artist further underscores the connections between Monet’s work and both American and European abstraction, while also highlighting its affinities with Japanese culture.

“[...] Exhibited nearby are sculptures under tension that Caubet describes as sticks and lances, tools of support and defense: tapered steel tubes fitted with turned wooden handles remain graspable, yet resist any stable ergonomics. Some, marked with ridges and fitted with an abacus, serve as tools for measuring time and space (JJ/MM/AAAA, 2026). These works retain a certain kinship with the sculptures produced by Isa Genzken in the 1970s: abstract, wooden oblongs, the hyperbolic curves of which were drawn with the help of a computer and the form and materials of which the artist associated with the morphology of guitar bodies. Genzken thus linked her interest in scientifically conceived objects to her engagement in sound experimentation, which extends through Caubet’s occasional collaborations with noise guitarist Nina Garcia. Here, the boundary between object and instrument evokes wind instruments, in which air is contained within these sealed, intertwined “bodies” [...]”

Galerie Jousse Entreprise is pleased to announce Jennifer Caubet’s third solo exhibition ‘Expectatives’, opening on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 4 pm to 9 pm. The exhibition will remain on view through June 13, 2026.

“[...] This new exhibition, which brings together several bodies of work, extends Jennifer Caubet’s ongoing reflection on contemporary social space and the articulation between sculpture and the technical object. Her practice tends towards productions that also operate as engines of fiction, at times bordering on science fiction. Throughout these works, air emerges as a key point of reference: its circulation, its frequent scarcity, and the possibility of conceiving breath, of thinking breathing, in ways that are more or less concrete and allegorical. Louidgi Beltrame is showing two video works ‘El Brujo’ and Sobre la Huaca Cortada’ (2016) and two new drawings ‘Sombre Doble’ and La Cuerda’ as part of the exhibition ‘Looking Through a Circle in a Circle of Looks’ on view at Artium Museoa l Museo Artium exploring artistic practices that critically and speculatively reflects on the role of the moving image in constructing stories and representations of otherness —constructed and defined by the West based on an entire epistemological apparatus derived from modernity— that have shaped a diverse tradition of ethnographic cinema.
