Paris doesn’t simply hold our work, its a collaborator. It activates us, bringing its history, creative energy, & unexpected connections into every story we make.
LaShonda Cooks (LaShonda Cooks) is a Dallas-based artist & writer who loves exploring cultural norms, identity & beauty through words & images.
She visited Paris & spent the day with photographer Aris Theotokatos & curator Aalyiah Nicole.
Aris captured her through his lens. Aalyiah guided the experience, connecting the artist to the city’s creative pulse. Together, the three moved through Paris, photographer, curator, & painter, each shaping the story from a different angle.
These are the type of relationship nurtured at popout together. We exist to bring artists, curators, & image-makers into meaningful conversation, creating space for each perspective to stand on its own while building something more powerful together.
Paris isn’t just a backdrop, it is part of the creative process and a living archive of artistic exchange.
For generations, artists, writers, photographers, and thinkers have come here to study, question, collaborate, and build new visual languages together.
We continue that tradition by creating space for international artists to encounter the city, & one another, in ways that shape the work beyond the moment
