🚨 Auction Alert ! « From the Studio of Alan Charles Kessler »
Few collections in Native American art have earned this kind of anticipation. I am honored to serve as its expert.

« From the Studio of Alan Charles Kessler », presented by Lusher Fine Art & Auctions, Santa Fe, New Mexico. October 24, 2026.
Fifty years of uncompromising pursuit. Over fifty Katsinam of exceptional quality, spanning from the 1880s to the mid-20th century. Estimates from $1,000 to over $60,000.

Alan Kessler is not simply a collector. He is one of the founding figures in the institutional recognition of Hopi and Zuni arts, a fixture on Canyon Road for decades, a founding member of ATADA, and the man behind the 1997 Sotheby's New York sale that set the world auction record for a Katsina figure.
As the expert behind the Roland de la Moussaye, Leo Scheer, and Jean-Paul Morin dispersals, each a milestone in the Katsina market, I can say with confidence: this sale marks a new chapter.

📅 Saturday, October 24 — 11:00 AM Santa Fe / 7:00 PM Paris
Live and online worldwide.

Deeply honored to have authored an exclusive article for the latest issue of Halo Magazine (Editions Venus d’Ailleurs). 📖✨

For this publication, I dived into a lifelong passion of over 25 years: Katsina dolls.
Beyond their sacred role as guardians of the Hopi world, these extraordinary figures have cast a profound spell on the Western eye, deeply influencing 20th-century avant-garde masters like Max Ernst and the Surrealists.
Some objects carry entire worlds within them. 🌵

🛒 How to get your copy: Available on Venus d’Ailleurs online store.

Counting down the days. 📦☀️
Still in Paris, but Aix-en-Provence is on the horizon. My art selection remains on view in Paris until June 28th — private visits welcome, and a perfect opportunity to meet before the summer.
At the same time, I am opening my calendar for the summer session in Aix-en-Provence. From July 4th to August 30th, I will be welcoming you in the shade of the Sainte-Victoire, with a selection of works from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas — and the cicadas in full voice. 🏛️☀️

📅 Paris — Private visits until June 28
📅 Aix-en-Provence — July 4 to August 30, by appointment

Today at Drouot — and what a day.

Lot 67, a Northwest Coast raven rattle from the Charles Ratton collection, sold at more than twice its high estimate. The kind of result that confirms what we always felt about this piece: its rarity, its presence, its history.

The Navajo Squash Blossom necklace — once in Andy Warhol’s personal collection — also found their collectors. And made them very happy.

Proud and grateful. This is why we do what we do.

☀️ GALERIE FLAK • AIX-EN-PROVENCE • SUMMER 2026 ☀️

Every summer, we leave Paris for two months to set up beneath the Provençal sun — right across from the Sainte-Victoire Mountain.
We'll be there from July 1st through August 30th.
Far from the art fair circuit, this is something quieter: ancient works from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas, and the time to look at them slowly. ✨

Visits by appointment only — we love taking the time to chat and explore the works together, at your own pace. DM us to book.

📍 Aix-en-Provence: July 1 – August 30
📍Paris: as always, Galerie Flak remains in Paris the rest of the year, by appointment.
