.gketsis’s works navigate between the sacred and the surreal.
Tears, gestures, relics his copper fragments become ex-votos, vessels of silent memory and inner transformation.

HASNAE EL OUARGA
Al Aalamin ٦, 2026
From Al-Alamin series
Cyanotype | Engraved frame
134 x 100 cm

In Al ‘Aalamin, Hasnae El Ouarga uses cyanotype, an old light-sensitive technique ☀️, to create images with stones placed on paper 🪨📄. She sets the elements, then lets sunlight complete the work. A degree of accident is welcomed : the artist trusts what happens during the exposure.

Light marks the surface except where the stone blocks it 🌑: the image appears through absence. What is hidden becomes form. The gesture is simple and meditative .

Al ‘Aalamin, “the worlds” 🌍✨, refers to the visible and invisible universe. The works invite contemplation of the sacred, the divine, and the infinite .

For the 1-54 Marrakech 2026 edition, NIL Gallery highlights Moroccan photographic creation through the work of two women artists based in Marrakech. The gallery presents two complementary approaches to image making, one rooted in cyanotype, a light sensitive historical process, and the other in contemporary photography. Two distinct bodies of work are shown, Dryland Series by Sara Benabdallah and Al Aalamin Series by Hasnae El Ouarga, reflecting the gallery’s commitment to supporting singular practices grounded in material, perception, and inner landscape.

We are pleased to welcome you to Zona Maco Mexico

A109.

On this occasion, we present a curated selection of works by
Gommaar Gilliams, Malik Thomas Jalil Kydd, and Simon Buret three distinct artistic voices brought together through material intensity, symbolic narratives, and painterly presence.

From layered surfaces and stitched fabrics to figurative and poetic explorations, the booth proposes a dialogue between gesture, memory, and contemporary mythologies.

🌌Al ‘Aalamin series — العالمين🌌
We are pleased to announce our first collaboration and representation of Moroccan artist Hasnae El Ouarga on the occasion of 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair Marrakech 🇲🇦

Through this series, the artist develops a photographic and metaphysical research where light acts as a revealing principle. The image emerges through withdrawal, absence, and obstruction, opening a contemplative space between the visible and the invisible worlds.
