Wilhelmina’s (Hydra) presented a solo exhibition of oil paintings by Chinese artist Han Jiaquan. Han translates fleeting moments into lasting impressions through nuanced use of colour, form, and composition. His paintings, featuring shells, clocks, spectral figures, and fogged architecture, function as visual triggers that build chambers of forgotten feelings.

PARIS-B (Paris) presented works by three Chinese artists — Qi Zhuo, Shen Han, and Yang Yongliang — exploring the dialogue between tradition and modernity.

Qi Zhuo “restored” fragments of Buddhist statues within fragile glass bubbles, questioning authenticity and cultural displacement. Shen Han’s abstract canvases emerged from gestural rhythm, connecting subconscious memory to form. Yang Yongliang’s digital landscapes, inspired by Shan Shui, revealed futuristic urban environments, meditating on the balance between nature and city life.

Al Markhiya Gallery (Doha) presented a diverse showcase featuring works by Alanoud Al-Buainain, Ameena Al Yousef, Hind Al Saad, and Ameena Al Boinin. Spanning sculptures created from raw and repurposed materials to mixed-media works on paper and tech-driven experiments, the presentation captures the evolving rhythms of our landscapes. While distinct in their aesthetic language, these artists share a profound engagement with ecology and sustainability, investigating the delicate, shifting relationship between humanity and the natural world.

Galerie LJ (Paris) proposed a duo show bringing into dialogue the canvas paintings of Georgian artist Rusudan Khizanishvili and the works on paper of Korean-American artist Lily Wong. Both have previously exhibited at the gallery, which represents them. Their singular pictorial practices are traversed by questions of memory, myth, and identity.

For its first participation in Asia NOW, Galerie Prima (Paris) presented a solo show by Indonesian artist Tara Kasenda. Based in Paris, Kasenda develops a sensitive painting practice in which light and color become the vehicles of a floating, introspective perception. Informed by rigorous research into color theory, her work invites the viewer into a space of transition — on the edge between reality and imagination. Blending traditional oil painting techniques with a contemporary sensibility, her dreamlike, soft-focus atmospheres reflect on beauty, spirituality, and the evolving nature of the contemporary gaze.

HdM Gallery (Beijing) presented a group show centered on the works of Chinese artists living and working outside China.

The presentation featured new paintings by Zhou Gongmo, a young Chinese painter based in Nantes whose work centers on reflections of images on metal and glass, blurring the distinction between reality and impression. Alongside, new photographs by Huang Xiaoliang, who completed a series on Deauville, offered a unique perspective of Chinese photographers on French environments. Completing the selection, paintings by young Chinese painter Wei Zixiang, who is based in Paris, showcased the breadth and variety of contemporary Chinese abstraction.

Galerie PJ (Metz) presented a compelling dialogue between two emerging artists: Lee Horyon and Shinpei Okawa.

Shinpei Okawa’s practice is deeply imbued with temporality and memory, weaving together fragments, altered surfaces, and dreamlike motifs. This presentation marked his first participation in a contemporary art fair in Europe. Alongside him, Lee Horyon explores an aesthetic of veil and desire, creating works that oscillate between dreamlike figuration and delicate plays of transparency. Together, the project staged a dialogue between two meditative sensibilities, where matter transcends its physical form to become language.

Milaaya Art Gallery (Mumbai) presented a collaboration with four leading Indian artists — Nikhil Chopra, Nilima Sheikh, Ranbir Kaleka, and Manjunath Kamath — and the master artisans of their Mumbai atelier. Together, they explored embroidery as a medium that bridges contemporary art and traditional craft. This unique partnership translated diverse artistic languages, from painting to performance, into richly textured textile works, offering a fresh perspective on traditional Indian embroidery techniques.
During the edition, Nikhil Chopra Nikhil Chopra , curator of the 6th Kochi-Muziris Biennale, participated in a conversation with Shwetal Patel Shwetal Ashvin Patel and Anissa Touati .

ONEART Gallery (Beijing) presented «Dwelling in the Ideal Land», an exhibition curated by Susan Li. Through the works of Xiong Wei? Gao Yuanyuan, Feng Zhixuan and Liu Wenqi, the selection investigated «context embeddedness», re-situating artistic practice within diverse local frameworks — from childhood memory and rural landscapes to philosophical inquiries into poetic inhabitation.

For its first participation at Asia NOW, JW Projects (Singapore) presented works by Moses Tan and Suzuki Shin. Founded in Singapore in 2022 by director Jingwei Wang, the gallery specializes in modern and contemporary works by internationally established artists from different geographical regions, while actively nurturing emerging regional talent across diverse media and practices.
