🟣💚🎀🔷🟧 Mood boards are my love language so I thought I’d start a little color story series with a few nuggets from my trip. I’ll get around to creating a Paris highlight soon but if you saw on my stories the Monet x Mitchell exhibit blew me away. I studied art history in college and I always appreciate a show that is curated so well. I also happen to be working within a punchy palette close to this today that is also within the realm of find art and can’t wait to dive in!

Any other event people feeling a little extra pep in their step after Biden’s speech last night? I mean it won’t be totally normal this summer, but it will be GOOD.

I was reading Madeline to my twins last night and felt inspired to limit my color palette a la Ludwig Bemelmans for an upcoming project (with some texture plucked straight outta Eric Carle and Christian Robinson for good measure). This is still in progress, but what do you think?

A belated post with a few peeks of my project...because what is time right now? We (as in 💯 my husband with my moral support, heh) built a huge raised bed and I’m hoping our tiny helpers won’t rip everything out the second it sprouts. We also have big plans to plant milkweed and other flowers to attract 🦋 so any tips are very welcome! @ Chicago, Illinois

The creative projects I have going right now have really been a lifeline. Some days parenting without breaks slash reading too much news is totally overwhelming, and having solo art time has been so helpful.

I’m so excited to share the first piece of my collaboration with the amazingly talented Amanda of and . If you are interested in supporting local and sustainable food, Amanda has a TON of resources for sourcing food, urban gardening, recipes, sustainability measures and so much more. I really can’t recommend her enough.

I’m doing illustrations for her seasonal cookbooks coming out this year, and I’m so excited to use them! Stay tuned for more 🌱🍅🥬🥒🥦🥕🍓

When Phil and I lived in Bordeaux we tried to travel as much as we could afford to, and I knew we would find a way to get to Morocco. It was such a crazy culture shock, but I remember the first day walking around the medina (old walled in portion of the city) so so vividly. I think my favorite thing about Morocco is how the most nondescript doors lead into completely lush and magical spaces. Dreaming of returning some day! 🇲🇦

Turns out daily sketching isn’t super feasible on top of full time parenting, reading way too many npr articles, and then the spiral of panic caused by doing both of those things while being trapped inside.

But! I am claiming weekends as my new “office hours” and I thought these sketches could be a fun way to share some stories from my time living abroad and a much needed solo creative exercise for me.

For those that don’t know, I taught English at a French high school about 45 minutes outside of Bordeaux during the 2011/12 school year. The town is called Andernos-les-Bains and it’s on the coast along a somewhat shallow bay, and it’s known as a popular vacation spot for the French. It’s lovely and my students and fellow teachers were the best!

I’ve got some other fun ideas for upcoming sketches. Stay tuned! And hope you are all staying healthy and sane. ❤️

Hiiiii! I just went through my old France photos during naptime (helllllo full time mom life) and figured I’d try to squeeze in an iPad sketch of some favorite memories to get through quarantine life. Hopefully you are all hanging in there! 🙃

Some warm whites for a fun project! I’ll share more details next week...but key word here is warm. 😉☀️
