Kwame Akoto dit Almighty God à l’honneur dans le très beau numéro d’hiver de Nikkou Magazine.

« C’est tout d’abord par leur singularité, leur côté coloré et apparemment ludique, ainsi que leurs dimensions surréalistes, que les œuvres de ce peintre et sculpteur ghanéen frappent le regard. Le fait que certaines d’entre elles viennent d’être exposées dans le cadre de l’exposition "Cabinets de curiosités" présentée au Fonds Hélène et Édouard Leclerc pour la culture à Landerneau, près de Brest, est à cet égard significatif. Dans ce cadre, elles font partie des expressions de la "curiosité" comme courant de l’imaginaire contemporain. »

Plusieurs œuvres de Kwame Akoto, dont celle présentée ici, faisaient partie de l’exposition "20 ans, Les acquisitions du Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac", montrée au Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac à l’automne dernier.

Thank you so much for visiting our booth at last week.
As one of our fondest memories of the fair, today we’re sharing this picture of Hervé Dirosa standing in front of one of Kwame Akoto’s paintings, pointing at a sentence that reads: « Kwame Akoto, friend of Hervé Dirosa The Great Artist ».
It reads as a tribute to the moment they met in Ghana 27 years ago, as Hervé was traveling around the world to meet artists who would inspire him to renew his own techniques.

Nous partageons aujourd’hui cette photo d’Hervé Dirosa devant l’un des tableaux de Kwame Akoto que nous présentions, sur lequel on peut lire : « Kwame Akoto, friend of Hervé Dirosa The Great Artist ». Hommage à leur rencontre il y a près de 27 ans, lorsqu’Hervé fit étape au Ghana ?
