The Brazilian artist, Beatriz Milhazes, faces the challenge every day of attempting to convert life and her surroundings into a painting. In order to do this, she needs to think as a geometric and conceptual artist. Her primary inspiration is the city’s botanical gardens and the urban culture of the city. Milhazes bases her artistic practice in translating places from memory into color, geometry, and arabesque shapes. Her efforts culminate in her patented form of abstraction, which she has named “chromatic free geometry”.

Her kaleidoscopic works are inspired by indigenous Brazilian and Modernistic European design elements. She has revealed in the past that her primary influences have been Henri Matisse, Piet Mondrian, and Tarsila do Amaral. Milhazes’s original technique is rooted from an idiosyncratic method of collaging paint. While executing a painting, she avoids showing her collaboration in the process at all costs. She maintains a firm hand in order not to expose the texture of her brushstrokes, or the ‘hand’ that conducted them.

-“There should be struggle on the surface, to create some activities for your eyes” -Beatriz Milhazes

Ivan Navarro is one of the pioneers of the use of neon lights as a tool to create perspective.

His works create a sense of depth in a depthless space that allows the viewer to travel to surreal places through his or her senses. Navarro has found a way to rewrite art history by returning to Minimalism and Pop Art.

He revisits these past art movements and adds his own twist to them by approaching them through a perspective built on literature, language, art historical, and social references

Navarro’s works are pedagogical in natura and are also very political. His Chilean heritage and the time he lived under dictatorship built the base for his perspective on politics and electricity. Back in Chile, electricity was used by the government as a strong tool for torture and ex*****on, which inspired him to work with the medium as a form of protest. Although conceptually different, one might compare his use of light bulbs in Minimalism to Dan Flavin’s work.

“A painting must generate feeling otherwise it is dead.” -Peter Joseph

Watching music! My feeling. Peter Joseph, the painter who suggested new emotions. Tones and colors and feelings I have never seen or experienced before I looked at his creations.

Joseph repeatedly compared his art to music. He believed music was the first form of abstraction and found inspiration in musicians like Bach, who payed more attention to the feeling than the narrative in their work.

His purpose when painting was to separate the content from the meaning in order to heighten the emotion.

Throughout his career, Joseph insisted on the fact that his paintings lack composition.

His early works are known for their meditative nature and symmetrical balance. Every decision he made about the color or position of the elements in these works is directly related to a specific time, mood or place. This painting is one of his later works, executed 3 years before his death. During his last years he achieved a level of maturity in his art that allowed him to escape his “architecture” and gave way to loose brushstrokes, more intrinsic tones, and even exposed blank canvas.

He claimed they were built by color tones, and finished with the way the light touched the canvas and influenced the scale of the rectangles. He found a way to exploit the potential of limitations.

AVAF is a collective that creates beautiful projects Assume Vivid Astrofocus, an innovative way to view and create art for communities and individuals.

Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide-Pierson have created an inventive way to involve individuals who love art to participate and create art together. Their works include visual art and design, kinetic art, music, choreographies and works revolving around urban society and behavior. It's a bit like integrating all of the arts together in order to overwhelm the participants or spectators.

It's all about being ahead of time, trusting that you can change the world and being part of this evolution.

Thank you Guys for your hard work! I'm always amazed when standing in front of your work!

-Pierson

Working mood “serious -happy mood” 😊🧐

On the phone sharing details of this amazing worrk by German artist Jorinde Voight during art Basel 2018.

Jorinde”s work seems to be a reflection of much of what she has studied: philosophy, literature, sociology and of course, her art studies.

Although her work is complicated, it has an order to it. The observer can see musicality, color matrixes and ordered lines among other elements. The artist seems keenly aware of the orderliness of the universe.

There is a delicacy in her work that attempts to document the concepts of music, philosophy and her emotions. While these concepts would seem to crash into one another - they, in reality, are a mashup of the forces of an ideal universe.

“You forgot to kiss my soul" ✨Emin is speaking to herself.

She is speaking in her voice. When she says "You", she really means "I". It is a reaffirmation, not of the fact that we exist in a cruel world that gives itself up to a guided program of absurd doctrines for everyday living.

🧘‍♀️We abandon ourselves as beings. 🧘‍♀️We stop feeling and living fully enslaving ourselves with the idea of being productive and seeking approval from a society.
🧘‍♀️A society that really cares little about us.

✨Tracey has taught me that I must never be influenced by what others say or by what others want from me. This work is a reproachment. Follow your heart in everything you do. This way there will be no regrets or sadness ever!

Have you seen when the mountains change color? ⛰

Did you know that color is color according to the percentage of light it is capable of absorbing?

Between the sun ☀️ the wind 💨 the lights💡 and the reflection of the colors, other shades are generated. 🌈

✅Colors are natural pigments that have less or greater ability to absorb light, and that is when they make a color before our eyes.

✅Carlos Cruz Diez, the artist of the kinetic movement known worldwide, dedicated his life to seeking answers in question to the human perception of the compositions given by nature, among them his greatest inspiration the El Avila mountain in my homeland, Venezuela. 🇻🇪❤️
Carlos Cruz Diez Exploration:

✨The natural rhythm between colors, light, and all possible perceptions of the eye.

✨The approaches between light rays, their reflections, the embrace between light and color, and the viewer.

✨The fantastic quality of color of absorbing light, reflecting, projecting, and a theme worked in depth by this beautiful artist who will live forever through his beautiful monumental works.

✨ I witnessed this installation in Paris in, Cruz Diez intervened in the Palais d'Alene- Carousel of the Arts and transformed the space into a temple of visual rhythm, in repetition and sequences of colored lines on shapes that suggest a path with an opening to another level of perception. ♥️
