Oui Oui back from Paris 🇫🇷 😎

Eiffel Tower
The Louvre
Arc De Triomphe
Notre Dame
Royal Palace
Lafayette etc etc .To name A few spots we managed to hit

We managed to see some friends and do some things we’ve never done before .
I wanted to find some less touristy things to do in Paris but I didn’t get any suggestions so another time .

I hadn’t planned on travelling ✈️much this year ( this will likely be the only trip of 2025 )
Paris🇫🇷 has been on my heart ❤️ to do for a while .I’ve been multiple times but not many dedicated trips, more like passing through .

Paris is a bit like the friend that lives so close ,you say you can see them anytime but you never do make the time .

Most of the main tourist stuff we’ve done before the new additions were Royal Palace ,Notre Dame , Lafayette ( everytime I see the name Lafayette I think of The ‘Guns and ships ‘ song 🎵 from Hamilton 😀’

1st time ever riding a Lime🍋‍🟩 Bike 🚲 ever in Paris ,yes we have them in London but I ride my own 🚲 bike . It's expensive but it’s good fun. Paris streets are crazy but I think it was a highlight. Another highlight was speaking a line of french other than the obvious words (Bonjour Ca va , Ca va bien , Merci ) etc .

The little french I used : as-tu un fer à repasser

& the person understood and spoke back in french 🇫🇷 it was like magic ✨ lol 😂🙈

It’s a big deal for me cause i’m terrible at languages , pronunciation & was kicked out of French 🇫🇷 at school 🏫 as they said I had no chance of passing 😀🙈.I went to watch a French movie to see what I could understand, maybe 0.1 percent of language but cinema 🎞️ is universal 🙂.

I didn’t manage to eat frog legs 🐸 or snails 🐌They’re expensive too & I didn’t get that freshly made, warm 🥐 croissant I was after. I did manage to get 2 Pain au Chocolats just before closing at a boulangerie .It’s all good though it gives me things to look forward to for next time. Lord Willing .

The night before the last day. My friends decided we should go & catch the sunrise before I jumped on my flight ✈️ . ⠀
⠀
They had to leave their house at 4am so we could get there in time . ⠀
⠀
It was really beautiful 😍 my pictures really don’t do it justice . I was trying to do too much video Timelapse’s etc etc 🤦‍♂️. ⠀

After catching the sunrise they treated me to a buffet breakfast at a hotel 🏨 😋. ⠀
⠀
We went to a few more spots then off to the airport . I managed to get my South Africa 🇿🇦 T shirt . So mission accomplished 🎉. A T shirt of every country in the country . (Although I ran out of time so had to get this one at the airport . ) ⠀

A lovely trip around 6 weeks 6 countries officially 🇬🇭 🇷🇼 🇰🇪 🇺🇬 🇿🇼 🇿🇦 . Unofficially 🇧🇼 🇿🇲 ⠀

My last full day in South Africa 🇿🇦 I went to Robben island . book early (always sold out if last minute it seems ) ⠀
⠀
It’s interesting to Hear the history of the place beyond Mandela’s 20 odd years there . one of the X prisoners gave us a tour you can just hear the pain in his voice . ⠀

I went to kirstenbosch botanical gardens Really beautiful 😍 ( I’ll just tac on a couple snaps from there later) ⠀

I also met up with some family and some friends , they really spoiled me 🙏❤. I also got to see some of the regular parts of Cape Town Lavender hill area etc etc and more on the unofficial neighbourhood tour 😎👊⠀

So after table mountain 🏔 met up with a friend and went on 2 walking tours where you get some history of the buildings and places and apartheid history is woven into everything Which I’m still equally shocked & intrigued by . ⠀
⠀
It’s a “free tour “ you just tip at the end but I thought it was really well done & interesting just walking through parts of the city , court house , the old benches , monuments ,Faeeza’s kitchen , the Bo Kaap , tasting some Koeksisters 😋 and more . ⠀

Table mountain Hike 🏔 in the morning (I Didn’t get so many pics I didn’t want to lose my phone on the mountain due to the wind ,rain misty at the top too )⠀

“You may want to go up on another day it’s very windy the cable car won’t be going up or down as it’s too dangerous “ warned the guy who works at the table mountain info desk ⠀

“I don’t know when I’ll get the chance come back so I’ll see how far I get “ (it’s a good job coz I didn’t get time to go back ) ⠀

I saw people coming down so even though I could feel the strong winds and it was a cloudy morning . I thought how bad could it be ? ⠀

Table mountain staff”Depends on how fit you are I’d say around 2.5 hrs on average “ ⠀

I thought I was average ish fitness ⠀

I Am NOT FIT AT ALL . 😩😂🙈⠀

My 1st mistake was forgetting my water 🤦‍♂️ ( I figured it’s only a few hrs I’ll be fine ) ⠀

2nd mistake was trying to keep up with fit people at first . Probably best to go your own pace . ⠀

My heart was beating so fast , I was sweating so much , my spit was becoming thick and salty , as I climbed higher the wind was pushing me over taking my breath away , it was very misty at a point I was holding onto a tree branch so I didn’t fall off the edge that’s how windy it was ⠀

I stopped to rest and another climber was passing me ⠀
⠀
Me: am I going the right way ? ⠀
⠀
Climber : yeah keep going is this your 1st time ? ⠀
⠀
Me : yeah. ⠀
⠀
Climber : o wow you’ve picked the worst day for it stick with me ⠀
⠀
If it wasn’t for him it would have took me a lot longer to climb . every time I wanted to rest he’d say come on “let’s go no resting for too long !” ⠀
My heart was beating out my chest I was dying “bro give me a little break “. ⠀
⠀
But to no avail I found out he climbs the mountain 🏔 every week and loves David Goggins videos so you know he loves pain or wants to love it 😃🙈. ⠀

Made it to the top of that bit as we came down the sun ☀ came out and clouds began to clear ⠀

Later met up with a friend and did 2 walking city tours but more on that later ✌❤
