In Crash Test #7: ICONICA, Paula Rosolen turns her attention to women throughout history, examining visibility, authorship, and the transmission of knowledge through embodied practice. Inspired by overlooked artists and thinkers, figures whose contributions were diminished or forgotten, the work evokes their presence into the contemporary moment.

Here a few impressions from Crash Test #7: ICONICA, presented during Open Studios 2025.

Crash Test #5: THEATER looks at symmetry and power relations, questioning cultural hierarchies that give priority to language over bodily experience. It takes shape as an ongoing negotiation, where the search for symmetry becomes both a working method and a metaphor.
As such, symmetry is delicate, temporary and prone to collapse. The performers’ relationship shifts continuously, sometimes revealing vulnerability, sometimes resilience, suggesting associations that move between companionship and intimacy. Theater also plays with the ambiguity of its title, from operating theaters to theaters of war.

“In her work, Rosolen is primarily concerned with the physicality associated with the respective phenomena, and she always succeeds in precisely elaborating the physical qualities and converting them into a formal, contemporary language of movement Paula Rosolen’s work follows”
