Taking part of 2026 with form the 9th to the 12th of April 2026 in a group exhibition by John Armleder, Mojé Assefjah, Tamara Haddad, Szilard Huszank, Kevork Mourad, Nabil Nahas, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Ghassan Zard.

I will be presenting 9 small paintings in this new series that blends realism with surrealism. Everyday objects and creatures are reimagined, domestic animals are shrunk, flies are replaced with helicopters and ants with tanks.

In a world that feels increasingly chaotic and illogical, surrealism seems the only way to describe it.

“One Thousand and One Nights”

Taking over the largest wall in my workshop, this canvas has been through a long journey. The work draws from Oriental folk tales, blended with Japanese flat printing techniques to shape the waves and the mountains. Pieces like this are constantly evolving, influenced by exhibitions I visit, what the British Museum happens to be showing, or even the book I’m reading at the moment. That’s the beauty of improvisation: letting daily curiosities quietly guide the work.

Sneak peek #3
Look closely and you’ll see insects scattered around the flower, an echo of Dutch and Italian still life paintings, where every element held meaning. Flowers symbolized vanitas; insects like caterpillars and butterflies spoke to life’s cycles. Here, 3D-printed brass war toys, soldiers, tanks, and helicopters mimic insects. They play and fight among the petals, reflecting the duality of Lebanese life, where beauty and violence coexist in the same frame.

So relieved that ''Beirut 1x1'' is finally restored and back on display at the Audi Bank head office in Beirut, after being damaged in the Beirut port explosion of August 2020.

Gratitude to Christiane Audi for the dedication and effort it took to bring this work back to life.

''Beirut One by One'' is a collaborative piece created in 2011 with architect . It visually explores the concept of coring a piece of Beirut’s soil, presenting a virtual cubic “drill sample,” placed on wheels and exposed to the public eye.

Its story is told through the layers of its own ground: history conveyed by the accumulation and compression of passive cardboard sheets, silently stacked one on top of the other. These layers are occasionally pierced by random lines of round bullets, breaking the rhythm with a silent sound.

Sneak Peek #1
We worked with metal in its two states: solid stainless steel and liquid brass, 3D printed into form. A continuous dialogue between the precision of technology and the touch of the human hand.

“It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superman!”
A title borrowed from childhood nostalgia—now echoing a very different reality in Lebanon, where the sounds of drones and sonic booms have become part of everyday life.

'Red Blossom'
This painting depicts a bouquet in full bloom. Within it, I’ve embedded portraits of people around me, reimagined as insects inhabiting this flourishing environment. By incorporating tags, stamps, stencils of emojis, I explore layered, open-ended narratives—blurring the boundaries between the natural world, digital language, and human presence. A visual exercise open to interpretation.

From the "Big Bouquets" series, this piece blends painting with monotype printing. Layers of different techniques come together on a single canvas, offering a personal take on the traditional 'Still life' genre.
The calm is disrupted by helicopters and planes, buzzing like flies over green leaves gathered from my own back garden and printed on delicate rice paper. This method lets me play with transparency and depth, without relying on precise perspective — inviting the viewer into a space that feels both intimate and unsettled.•
