In an era when a disconnection lasting minutes would be considered a crisis, Iran continues to shatter records in destroying livelihoods and eroding basic rights.

After 88 days, there are finally signs of limited internet restoration in Iran. This shutdown is not the first one in Iran. These disconnections only serve to silence the voices of Iranians, while influencers & supporters of the Islamic Republic maintain 100% connectivity to spread propaganda across the so called progressive spaces in the world.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic created a class based internet system where access is reserved for elites or those who can pay $$$ … the very kind of imperial structure they claim to oppose.

During this shutdown, hundreds of thousands of businesses and organizations were affected, resulting in near total loss of livelihood & emotional turmoil for millions inside & outside Iran.

Regardless of politics, this is a total shame. Iranians deserve a life of integrity and prosperity.

There are no ifs, ands, or buts here.
Internet access is a human right.

Try living without it for a day.

Images from another time in Iran. Behind the headlines, politics, and the news cycle is a vast country filled with diverse people and stories too often overlooked.

Our dear friend has spent years documenting Iran and its people. The result is “Well Come” a title inspired by a common misspelling found in Iranian places making a genuine effort to welcome the foreigners who find themselves there.

These images show a country of warm people who have had to endure decades of political repression and violence, sanctions, isolation, censorship, and war. Burdens that no people should have to carry. Despite it all we continue to love and be welcoming of others…
