CTRL + Desire, Digital collage and drawing on archival print.
This piece explores the tension between identity, consumption, and digital fragmentation. Through chaotic, gestural black linework that loosely suggests a reclining human form, the composition invites the viewer into a visual narrative of overload and distortion.
Embedded within the frenetic tangle are surreal and playful symbols—ice cream, sushi, glitch text, and abstract emojis—positioned like markers of modern sensory culture. These elements interrupt and interact with the figure, suggesting both pleasure and disorientation.
The glitch motifs and digital collage techniques evoke a hypermediated reality, blurring boundaries between the corporeal and the virtual. The layering of everyday consumer symbols over a scribbled, almost subconscious figure evokes themes of digital identity, body politics, and contemporary intimacy.
This work forms part of a broader investigation into how modern imagery—especially from social media, food culture, and pop iconography—affects our self-conception and visual language. Paris
