🎤 For 16 years, one thing has stood out in the feedback we receive after our Q&As: “The questions were so good.” 🫶

We are not here for the generic questions, and we genuinely want to know: How did you pull off that shot? How did you secure that location? How did you make that happen?

It’s because our team is made up of filmmakers, so we’re naturally curious about the details. Every film has its own story, its own challenges, its own creative choices.

Questions with intention create real conversations. Not just another Q&A, but a moment where filmmakers can share the craft, the process, and the stories behind the film. 🎬

Maria Mørkrid, sales agent at Steel Milk and a jury member at Paris Arts and Movie Awards this year, explained to participating filmmakers the mechanics of working with a reputable sales agent during the distribution panel - and also the role a sales agent can play in helping leverage parts of a film’s financing.

The industry side of PAMA focused heavily on distribution this year, with grounded, realistic insights into film financing, budgeting, and the financial logic behind getting a film to market.

Renee Yip was one of our top-class expert speakers at PAMA this year.

She opened Pandora’s box and showed participating filmmakers how much LinkedIn can help them connect with investors.

The mentorship session was high level, with email templates on how to approach financiers, and most importantly, how to build and tailor your own LinkedIn page so it feels credible and makes a strong first impression.

We screened this year at Cinéma Le Champo (Espace Jacques Tati), a movie theater nestled in the heart of Paris's Latin Quarter, just steps away from Saint Germain des Prés.

Listed as a historic monument since 2000 and recognized as an Art et Essai cinema by the Centre National de la Cinématographie, Le Champo is one of Paris's most legendary independent cinemas, a long standing home for retrospectives, cine clubs, filmmaker encounters, and generations of cinephiles.

Over the years, PAMA has regularly taken place in Paris's Latin Quarter. This year was another one for the books.

Thank you to all those who joined us for the 16th edition and shared these moments with us!

Distribution: Start Thinking About Strategy at the Idea Stage

Philippe Diaz, distributor (Cinema Libre Studio) and named by MovieMaker Magazine as one of ten "Moviemakers Making a Difference", was one of the jury members at PAMA this year.

During the distribution panel, co headlined with Maria Morkrid, Philippe shared valuable insights on how filmmakers should approach film distribution.

The advice sounds simple. The real question is whether you'll be one of the few filmmakers willing to do the groundwork.

Rooftop event!

This was our second rooftop event, the first one at JO&JOE.

Casual networking, photo ops, cocktails, and a good atmosphere under the Paris sun, not too hot, with a nice breeze up there.

Jury member Florent Lamy gave us pointers on how to package our films. VIPs, festival alumni, and guests mixed with filmmakers in competition.

A classy good moment, definitely.
