I'm super excited to be part of the upcoming group show "Rêver Grand" / "Dream Big" with nine other inspiring French female artists. Expo is from Feb 5 to 15, vernissage Feb 5. We'll be showing at a gallery in Boulogne, 82 Bd Jean-Jaurès 92100. Check out their work ahead of time, if you don't read French, read my takes below :)
- a fellow Ile d'Yeu groupie, inspired by industrial jute canvas sacs, she makes rhythmic colorful imprints that have been featured in I'm lucky enough to be a collector of her work!
's spunky and meticulous installations that could go on your wall or be a stand alone sculpture looks like one thing and then switches before your eyes; Getting to know her during this exhibition, she is a tour de force, and it shows in her artwork.
- A fellow ex-Hong Konger, her work is dream-like otherworldly, like yummy mysterious hubble telescope images from your deepest dreams.
's mixed media paintings an explosion of texture and thoughtfully accorded colors. I was lucky enough to do a residency with her in the French countryside and got to see her process and her glittering personality which comes through in her work.
creates spectacular paper meditations. Her paper installations are all 50 shades of white, highlighting the rich properties of paper: thick, thin, chunky, smooth, long, short.
- Juliette's artwork gives off bold, strong, powerful vibes often depicting woman as the whole world. Multimedia, multicultural, lots to see and absorb and contemplate.
's pieces are slices or points of view of a larger mood and scene that you just want to be part of. I love the care of her colors and textures, subtle variations and attention to context.
ohmakes ink and pen drawings with twists and smirks. She plays with words and images which look great together as a collection or separately.
- Dreamscape is the word that immediately comes to mind when I am sitting before Viriginie's paintings of coastal scenes of colorful solitude.
