The grisette was never just a charming Parisian trope, she was a working woman whose life was far heavier than the stories written about her. Male writers turned her into a carefree muse, a fantasy that later resurfaced with the midinettes and still echoes in today’s Manic Pixie Dream Girl. The Tuileries Garden and Place des Vosges are two of the most beloved public spaces in Paris, places where people stroll, read, and rest. What feels remarkable is how few visitors know that both spaces trace back to Catherine de Medici. She cleared the land, built the palace, demolished the old one, and set the stage for the neighborhoods we know today. As Paris gets ready for Bastille Day celebrations, it’s worth remembering that July 13 carries its own revolutionary weight. Charlotte Corday acted on this day in 1793, driven by political conviction at a time when women were denied political identity altogether. Her act didn’t stop the Terror, but it revealed how deeply women were thinking, arguing, and intervening in the Revolution, even when history tried to write them out.
Bastille Day honors the fight for liberty. Corday’s story reminds us who gets remembered in that fight, and who doesn’t.

After more than 10 years building and running Women of Paris, I’m starting to explore what the next chapter might look like — both for me personally, and for the business.

What began as a passion project has grown into a well-established brand, offering curated experiences in Paris and connecting an international audience with a more intimate, local side of the city. Over the years, it’s become a business that runs with a high degree of autonomy, supported by trusted partners and a strong digital presence.

As I’ve recently relocated back to London, I’m beginning to consider whether Women of Paris might be better taken forward by someone who is closer to the ground in Paris, or who sees an opportunity to expand and scale what’s already in place.

This isn’t a formal sales announcement, but rather an open-minded exploration. I’d love to connect with anyone who might be interested — whether that’s an operator, entrepreneur, or someone in the travel space who feels aligned with the brand and its potential.

I’m very open to conversations and happy to share more details privately.
