Excited to report that the 20th Festival Plage Musicale à Belle-Île continues through July 29, with an extraordinary program still to come featuring works by Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Bach, and Vivaldi.

Last night's performance was especially memorable, highlighted by an exceptional contemporary dance performance by Marion Gautier de Charnacé, beautifully accompanied by Festival Director and renowned violoncellist Christophe Beau. A wonderful evening celebrating the intersection of music, movement, and artistic expression in one of France's most beautiful settings.

This is the fourth in our ongoing series in which we take a critical look at challenges facing the performing arts. These three pressures (AI, human resources, cost) make a different organizational model not only attractive but structurally necessary: the heterarchical network. A day of collaborative learning through the Improbable initiative, led by (L to R) Sylvain Bureau (ESCP Business School, Director of the Improbable Chair), Sara Biglieri (International University of Monaco), Diane Frank (Stanford University), Takeru Coste (Paris Opera Ballet), and John Mitchell (Stanford University). The discussions fostered interdisciplinary dialogue at the intersection of dance, movement, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, opening new perspectives on the future of embodied knowledge and creative practice. .biglieri_embodied

We are delighted to announce the upcoming solo exhibition of Delphine Perrot's work. The exhibition, Graphic Journey: Les Baux-de-Provence, takes place from 1–15 August 2026 at Galerie La Cure, Les Baux-de-Provence.

This exhibition brings together a series of drawings and paintings created with Chinese ink in response to the landscapes of Les Baux-de-Provence. Between landscapes, architectural fragments and forms at the edge of abstraction, the works offer a sensitive interpretation of the territory, shaped by movement, memory and the experience of looking.

Delphine would be delighted to share more about this project with you or welcome you during your visit to the exhibition. The full press kit, high-resolution images, and any additional information are available upon request.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Please do not hesitate to contact Delphine should you require any further information.

My sincere thanks to Professor Steven Hinton of Stanford University and the St. Lawrence String Quartet for their exceptional analyses, illuminating discussions, and insightful performances throughout the course Defining the String Quartet II: Beethoven (Stanford Online, SOHS.YMUSIC0004). Their integration of historical context, musical analysis, and performance practice provided a rich and nuanced understanding of Beethoven's late string quartets, deepening both intellectual appreciation and listening experience.

Recently, I had the privilege of speaking with Ellen Wasylina, host of podcasts for Mediterranean Sustainability Partners, on the subject "Beyond Words: How Music and Dance Communicate What Language Cannot."
Taking a phenomenological approach to music and dance is important because it focuses on how individuals experience and live them, rather than merely analyzing their technical, historical, or cultural aspects. Phenomenology seeks to understand the meaning of an experience from the perspective of those who have it
