In Delphine Perrot’s studio hangs a photograph of Perrot on the floor, next to a giant sheet of paper, brush in hand, head down. Her work is just out of view in the corner of the frame. It seems less about creating and more about listening. That picture is a nice entry point into the Òsmosis series: an oeuvre by Marseille-born, internationally developed visual artist and performer. This series takes organizational issues as a point of departure. In future installments, I will consider issues impacting companies and business units within performing arts organizations.

In a traditional organization, roles like Artistic Director and Production and Technical do not necessarily exist as such, but they fit very clearly into a classic hierarchy. Consider the Artistic Director as Chief Creative Officer reporting into the CEO or Executive Director.
