Under the Umbrella, a monthly event where we bear our souls and laugh at ourselves in the meantime. No video recording during show.

Every last Thursday of the month, gather round while we share our most intimate writings, the messy, ugly, cringey thoughts that were so loud in our brains, they just had to be written down. Diaries, journals, WhatsApp conversations, email threads, Notes on your phone -- anything written without the intention of being read aloud, shared on stage in a safe space. All are welcome to our basement to take part in the cathartic cringe, or to stay seated and bask in the awkwardness of life, have a drink, and try something new! All languages, all types of text, as long as it wasn’t written to be performed!

LAST SHOW OF 2023 ☂️
This TUESDAY December 5th, we hope to see you for our final show to close out the year . Last chance until next year to say you were Under the Umbrella !
The theme is IN/DEPENDENCE! What does that mean? Who knows? We welcome any emails, messages, journal entries, etc. that you may have reflected on independence, dependence, community, solitude, your complicated relationship with your parents...anything really!

✨UtU TWO YEAR BIRTHDAY✨☂️
This Wednesday we are gathering for the two year anniversary of UtU . Come join us☂️✨
The theme is THEMELESS! You can read whatever you’ve been holding back “because it doesn’t fit the theme.” This is the night, the moment, to come on down and check out what we are up to at UtU. Reading isn’t necessary, you can listen or partake in a special moment, one of the only place the franglais Paris community where you don’t have to be anything but yourself.
As UtU becomes a toddler, a look and a shoutout to all those who’ve made this into what it is today! The team behind this project is growing, and we can only thank you all for your support and spreading the word💕
We’ve got SO many ideas and plans for what’s coming next, stick around and we are sure to make some magical moments together 🙌

Theme is heroes, villains, power struggles, unlikely alliances, hero journeys, redemption arcs, erc. When were you the hero, when were you the villain? Interpret however you like! whatever feels right!

At UtU, we dig through journals, notes, messages, anything really to be radically vulnerable onstage! Also, it's a very special night because we have a new host... come through for an unprecedented show!

🌼UTU SPRING SEASON🌸
Yes. That’s right, it’s time for us to come together again, at the lovely for the next edition of Under the Umbrella☂
Spring season is all about those narratives, the idea being we are all the heros of our own story.
Each night this spring will play within this overarching theme, guiding us with a lens through which to look at our own accidental or intentional writing. Diaries, WhatsApp exchanges, lists and rambling in the Notes App.. whatever it is, April 5th we are highlighting all of that

More photos to come from our first UtU of 2023 and our first night at ! What a heartwarming evening in the midst of this cold and wet winter. Our hosts at Brasil Rodizio were amazing, such a cozy space! Excited and grateful to be able to meet here again in two weeks✨
The theme tonight was layers. We went back in time, travelled through dreams, old thoughts, and shared conversations. Peeling back layers, we laughed and listen, shared and learned.
