This is a picture of Artemis 🐈‍⬛

She is a cat, but she is also a master in exposing art forgeries 🧐🥸

One side of my job as an art dealer, is to make sure that an art work entrusted to me is authentique☝🏻

It requires in-depth researches within the artists archives and submission to expert committees. It is is absolutely necessary that I guarantee to my collectors that they buy genuine artworks. 👍🏻

This painting was entrusted to me for sale… and my researches led me to declare that it was a forgery, that this painting was NOT by Marino Marini. 💔

There was a lot of pressure put on that job so that I would sale it quickly and discreetly, regardless of its authenticity. 😰

The “art mafia” exists. Because i am young, i was chosen as a target 🎯

As if they could fool me 🥷🏻

Despite of the threats, I remained faithful to my work ethics and disagreed to sale it. I now advocate the truth out-loud : this painting is NOT by Marino Marini. 👩🏼‍💼

And Artemis agrees with me !!! 🐈‍⬛

💫🗿Flashing art news! 🗿💫

With the announcement of the opening in 2026 of the Giacometti Museum & School in Paris by _giacometti , I wanted to share with you this very special artwork which I was entrusted with last year and that I sold to a very smart collector.

This double-sided drawing by Alexandre Calder and Alberto Giacometti was reproduced in the book "Calder intimate" by Daniel Marchesseau in 1989 when he was curator of the MAD, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris.

“Aimé Maeght, their common merchant, introduced them to each other after the war. Their mutual admiration made them scribble on the same sheet of paper - a bistro tablecloth - their mutual portraits. This "relic" marks their esteem and their friendship. »

This drawing was made on March 3, 1952.

Located in the historic building of the former Invalides train station and the basement of the esplanade, will be a new type of institution comprising a museum showcasing works by Alberto Giacometti, multidisciplinary exhibition spaces, and an art school that will be open to all.

I like everything about this small painting by Vasily Kandinsky, the Lion Hunt (Löwenjagd).

Painted in 1911, it is a delightful yet unusual representation much more naive and figurative than the modern landscapes he has accustomed us to.

Adding to his collection of folk objects, Kandinsky was inspired by the traditional Bavarian reverse glass paintings from 1908. Kandinsky created his own reverse glass paintings with flat, stylized forms and decorated wooden furniture. In cases such as Lion Hunt, Kandinsky's handmade wooden frame, adorned with traditional Bavarian colored dot patterns, has survived. Although he continued in this period to also depict his then preferred themes - the land and modern life - Kandinsky treated them in an increasingly abstract and daring manner, with brilliant colors.

🌟 VIEIRA DA SILVA 🌟
(1908-1992)

In Paris, everyone is an art collector. This painting reminds me everything I love about Autumn: les crépitements d’un feu de cheminée in a cosy Parisian flat, while eating apples and almonds. 🔥 🍁🍂 🌰

The painting is by Michel Thompson, a must see of Paris art scene that got exhibited first by Maeght in 1946. The owner wishes to remain anonymous, private collection!

Tribute to Leonor Fini, born on this day, in 1907! In her own words, and through this very image, the flamboyant artist expresses her Ideal Life : Playing at being another person or even one’s imagined self is all about self-invention, molting into another being, transforming and multiplying identities to the limit of one’s capacity to do so. This goes beyond narcissism, which is simply cherishing one’s own self. Wearing disguise is a sort of multiple narcissism because they are many versions of yourself involved - so you go into a transe of multiple identities, which engenders a state of crowded isolation from the outside world (reality?). Is this a negation of reality? Who cares? 🐈‍⬛

Tribute to Dorothea Tanning born on this day, in 1910! Poetess, painter, designer, lover and wife of Max Ernst, muse of Man Ray and Irving Penn, best friends with Lee Miller…

Dorothea Tanning, self portrait « Birthday », 1942, Oil paint on canvas, 102 x 65 cm, private collection.

When speaking about Dorothea Tanning, one must think of Max Ernst. They met thanks to their mutual art dealer, Julian Levy, but it under strange circumstances, also thanks to Peggy Guggenheim, the phenomenon eccentric patron of arts whom had requested from Ernst, whom she had just gotten married to, to visit art studios for the purpose of an exhibition, «Thirty Women», bringing to light young and pretty women artists from Manhattan.

Everything started with this painting, a self portrait where the artist had represented herself as a surreal fairy, bare chest, gaze lost in the distance, skirt of dark roots, which would be the turn on to their mythical union.. Tanning speaks about this life changing visit in the 1986 book « Birthday ». After this meeting, Ernst brook up with Guggenheim and moved in with Tanning. It was the start to the most glamorous artistic collaboration : a life-long love affair… as a couple, Ernst and Tanning were considered as « the most extraordinary of the surrealists. »

Tanning drew inspiration from Gothic and Romantic literature, creating fantastical and dream-like realms to investigate the human form and condition. Over the decades, she maintained an ambition to give form to imaginary worlds, exploring the language of Surrealism. She died in 2012, at the age of 101.

Shocking! The surreal worlds of Elsa Schiaparelli ✨👄✨

The Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris showcases the audacious and inspiring work of Elsa Schiaparelli, at the Parisian avant-garde of 1920-1930 fashion. Schiaparelli's whimsy, modern and poetic imagination earned the title of "the most eccentric of all creators". Indeed, her collaborations with the greatest names of the time gave birth to the most surrealist outfits: Salvador Dalí, Jean Cocteau, Marcel Vertès, Meret Oppenheim… and Leonor Fini.
It was at the Bonjean gallery run by Christian Dior that Schiaparelli discovered the world of Leonor Fini, whom she asked to paint the portrait of her daughter Gogo. And in 1937, a special order that will remain engraved in the history of fashion: the design of the bottle of the famous perfume ! Shocking !

And bravo to the current creative director Daniel Roseburry whom has kept alive the Schiaparelli flame 🔥
