😱😱😱 This past month, I’ve reached 10 000 songs mastered since I started this journey 12 years ago.
This is a nice chunk of music, projects, work from thousand of peoples and I hope the pleasure of many many more.

I’m so grateful for everyone that trusted me with their music&sound.

We ain’t done yet and some pretty big stuffs are coming very soon.

most of our milestones as artists are centered around playing to huge audiences. recording In The Blue Light feels way more personal and is prolly the most full circle moment of my career. i’ve been going to shows at since I was a teenager and dreaming about one day playing there, so it was the first thing that came to mind when I started rehearsing with this phenomenal band for my tiny desk last year. to bring this project to life in that space—with that energy, that deep sense of connection—was next level magic. wanna take a moment to acknowledge the incredibly talented people I made this with:

‘Hovvdy’ by is out today.

Pleasure to Co-Produce this with and mix it.

This record spans quite a few places but listening back this morning I don’t think I’d ever know it. A cabin in Black Mountain, my space in Asheville, Charlies mom’s house in Rockwall, Will’s mom’s house in Dallas & Sarlo’s space in LA.

This record was primarily captured with iPhone voice memos. There was a Zoom h5n and a few “traditional” captures filling in the gaps but what a breath of fresh air it was to allows performances to be performances and get the minutiae of microphones & preamps & w/e else out of the spaces we were using. My favorite space throughout the process became a rented Chrysler Pacifica.

Anyways what a wonderful & trusting & strange journey to be a part of this record. Happy release day crew

On a un peu parlé de matos mais principalement de la relation avec les artistes, avec les mixeurs et avec soi-même.

C’est une première pour moi car l’exercice est périlleux et j’ai mis du temps avant d’accepter l’invitation.

Un certain nombre de mes amis se reconnaitront sans que jamais je ne les cite, merci à eux 😘.
