🕋Hajj: The sacred pilgrimage to Mecca⁠

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam, a profound spiritual journey that every able-bodied and financially capable Muslim aspires to undertake at least once in their lifetime. It is a remarkable act of devotion, a time of reflection, and an opportunity for self-transformation.⁠
⁠
Central to the Hajj is the act of Tawaf, a symbolic ritual of circumambulating the Kaaba, the cube-shaped structure at the heart of the Masjid al-Haram mosque. ⁠
⁠
Tawaf is a deeply spiritual experience where pilgrims move in harmony around the Kaaba, symbolizing the unity and oneness of humanity. ⁠

You can almost feel and hear Tawaf and prayer through these pictures. How beautiful to be united as believers in collective devotion to Allah. One. 🌙 ⁠

One of my favourite concerts, a church concert by Sinan Arat and his brother Kenan. A mystical journey with classical and contemporary Sufi melodies. Dervish Osman was there and lit up the entire space with his whirling dance. His focus, trust, and complete surrender radiated hypnotizing tranquility and love. All of this happened against the backdrop of grand stained glass windows, in a beautiful church in Deventer.⁠
⁠
Boundaries blurred as East and West converged. The musical harmony of the two brothers reminded us that the language of the heart knows no limitations, and the longing for the divine is timeless and universal. We are blessed with music in our pursuit of spiritual enlightenment.⁠
