Honoring the diversity of the east Asia historical background, engaging both the hands of the Alang Nakahara tribe‘s artisans and Kuni who are the hand weaving artisans from Aichi, Japan in reviving their respective handicrafts, passed down across millennia. The narratives of both peoples meet in a series of beautifully co-woven fabrics. Wool yarns, hand-twisted by the indigenous people, interweave with cottons, linens, and ramie fibres, which have been hand-woven by Seediq craftsmen. AW26 collection‘s textiles come together in a number of traditional patterns: the bow, which casts protection for hunters; the wave, which reflects the mother of the river; and the rhombus, which symbolizes the eye of the ancestral spirit and also base on the traditional Seediq women’s handmade-bamboo basket, telling the life story of this tool that accompanied all women of the tribe throughout their lives, seemingly strong enough but it is actually a soft net protecting their family’s livelihood.
