Visual artist and sculptor reinvents the myth of the Amazon through a monumental installation staging a swarm of 888 arrows and a gigantic, graciously curved bow positioned towards two breast-shaped targets set in front of Andrée Putman’s famous escalator at
Prune Nourry was inspired by the myth of the Amazons, who legend has it would cut off their right breast to make them better archers. Playing with the characteristic symbols of the warrior, the artist has created an installation around three major components: a breast-shaped target, a bow and arrows.
“L’Amazone Érogène can be read as a metaphor for victory over disease. We pass through disease, as we pass through thousands of arrows […] I became, like so many women who have also gone through this ordeal, an Amazon.” says . Read more at 24s.com

2020 has been a difficult year. But we’ve also learned a lot from it. Despite current world events, we believe in keeping our motivation high and wanted to dedicate January’s nightstand post to Biet Simkin’s Don’t Just Sit There!
If you’ve been curious about meditation but never quite knew how to start, or if you’re looking to deepen your practice, this book will help you along the way.
We’ve loved it so much, that ’s own translated it and had it published in Turkey!

« The last 30 years in Paris have been incredibly inspiring, challenging, rewarding and, most importantly, particularly stimulating for the artists. I feel very privileged to have been working with many great artists[...]. It has been a joy to evolve in a cosmopolitan city that embraces art and culture with an intense and thought-provoking resonance. From the first day in October 1990 when I opened my one-floor gallery in the Marais, I felt embraced and welcomed by a very unique Parisian art world that offered us the ideal ecosystem to present works by a very wide range of artists to a curious, enthusiastic and discerning audience. » — Thaddaeus Ropac

Designed by Hungarian architect Antti Lovag, Le Palais Bulles was commissioned by French Industrialist Pierre Bernard and built between 1975 and 1989.
The 1200 m2 house overlooks the Mediterranean sea.
Located very close to Cannes, it features ten bedrooms, each decorated by multiple artists as well as one thousand portholes.
Lovag was inspired by ancestral habitats, a return to the roots.
Fashion designer Pierre Cardin purchased the house in 1991, turning it into his French Riviera summer house.
From floor to ceiling, from the walls to the portholes, all you see is undulating and spherical. “[…] Everything is absolutely sensual […] It's a woman's body" he liked to say.
Since 1999, the house is registered as historical monument.

Sophie Calle is a French writer and conceptual artist.

TRUE STORIES was first published in 1994. The poetic short stories, illustrated with photographs by Calle makes us feel a whole range of emotions. More importantly, they make us reminisce about the sweet bizarre moments of our own lives.

A great little book to revisit when feeling nostalgic, cozying up with a glass of wine and to simply read a few words that will put a smile on your face.

TRUE STORIES is available at or at any of you local bookstore.
