The new albums joins The Fryderyk Chopin Institute’s Blue Series, documenting the highlights of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition.
The double-disc release includes solo works performed in October 2025 by Kevin Chen – the second prize winner, an outstanding young pianist enjoying international acclaim: the Etudes, Op. 10, the Ballade in F minor, Op. 52, selected Preludes, the Polonaise in A flat major, Op. 53, and the Sonata in B minor, Op. 58, as well as the Concerto in E minor, Op. 11.
The Blue Series is a unique phonographic series, implemented by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute since 2010, presenting musical portraits of the most interesting personalities of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competitions in Warsaw over the years. The series, expanded with the latest competition recordings and supplemented with historical recordings, constitutes the richest phonographic source of the Chopin Competitions.
