Gregory Thielker

The windshield, not the view.

Thielker paints rain on glass, the exact instant the world outside blurs into streaks of light and color. Cities dissolve into bokeh, traffic becomes red and amber smears, and the surface you’re supposed to see through becomes the only thing in focus.

These are hyperrealist paintings of obstruction. The barrier between you and the world, rendered so precisely it stops being invisible.

What you can’t see clearly is the subject.

Two ways of looking through a surface.

Guillaume Grando sands and reworks water until it becomes mirror, then abyss, light caught in the membrane between air and depth. Gregory Thielker paints rain on glass, the exact instant a city blurs into streaks of red and amber.

One looks into the surface. The other looks through it. Both make the barrier the subject.

A duo show. Behind the glass, behind the water — the moment looking loses its footing.

Guillaume Grando

Water that won’t hold still.

Grando paints the surface at the exact moment it slips — light caught between reflection and depth, never landing on either. No horizon, no shore. Just the surface doing what it does: folding, breaking, pulling from metallic black toward green.

The work isn’t about water. It’s about that split second when your eye loses its footing and looking becomes the subject.

Come see it in person.

We are pleased to announce our participation in VOLTA Art Basel 2026, presenting new works by Guillaume Grando and Gregory Thielker.

A dialogue between two practices that share a fascination for surfaces in motion, light caught in water, the world seen through rain. Grando’s sculpted reflections meet Thielker’s painted blur in a quiet conversation on perception.

Between water and rain, between sculpture and painting.

We are honored to present new works by Guillaume Grando and Gregory Thielker at VOLTA Art Basel 2026.

Grando’s polished surfaces breathe like still water, ripples held in time, light folding upon itself. Thielker’s canvases pull us inside the storm, city lights bleeding through wet glass, a moment suspended between motion and memory.

Two artists, one shared obsession : what the eye perceives when the world becomes fluid.

Between blur and clarity, between surface and depth.

We are honored to announce our participation in VOLTA Art Basel 2026, where we will present new works by Gregory Thielker and Guillaume Grando.

Thielker’s rain-veiled landscapes and Grando’s luminous water studies meet in a quiet dialogue on perception, on what the eye holds when the world becomes fluid.

We look forward to welcoming you in Basel.
