Retour sur l’atelier de création de fanzine organisé dans le cadre de l’exposition « Un rêve de Harlem » à La Mob !

Petits et grands ont laissé libre cours à leur imagination pour créer des fanzines uniques, colorés et surtout très créatifs.

Un grand merci à Ben Sanair pour son accompagnement et son énergie, et bravo à tous les participants, pour leur enthousiasme et leur créativité !

A look back at the zine-making workshop held as part of the exhibition “A Dream of Harlem” at La Mob!

Come explore a nearly forgotten work by one of the 20th century’s most influential writers—and the unexpected story that connects it to France. Visit A Dream of Harlem: As Imagined by James Baldwin and Yoran Cazac at La Mob until November 1st!

On display are Cazac and Baldwin’s original manuscript pages for their “children’s book for adults” from 1976. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to follow their collaborative creative process, through the original sketches to the final form. Never before shown publicly, these "behind-the-scenes" works are a sight to see.

Our accompanying catalog features an unpublished interview with Yoran Cazac, conducted by Nicholas Boggs (2019 Dora Maar resident and 2026 PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award Winner for Biography). The catalog’s other essays shed light on the friendship between Baldwin and Cazac, one that, like their work, transcended norms and borders.

Boggs’s Baldwin: L’amour et la Révolution, the French edition of the instant New York Times bestseller Baldwin: A Love Story, has just hit the shelves in France—the country Baldwin loved and called home for much of his adult life.

You can find the translation (and the original in English) at La Mob boutique, alongside the exhibition catalogue and Little Man, Little Man, “children’s book” at the heart of the exhibition, as well as several of Baldwin’s most celebrated novels.

Un atelier d'écriture autour de l’OULIPO sera organisé en septembre à la Bibliothèque de Ménerbes avec Hélène Aji, artiste en résidence à la Maison Dora Maar.

Trois séances d’une heure sont prévues les jeudis 10, 17 et 24 septembre de 14h à 15h. La présence aux trois séances est requise.

A writing workshop focused on OULIPO will be held in September at the Ménerbes library with Hélène Aji, artist-in-residence at the Dora Maar House.
