Now on view in Saint-Étienne: F***y Souade Sow, “Forever ever”

Until July 18, 2026, Ceysson & Bénétière Saint-Étienne presents the exhibition “Forever ever,” dedicated to F***y Souade Sow, the first recipient to be supported by the Ceysson & Bénétière/Support program.

Through a collection of multimedia works and natural materials destined to evolve over time, F***y Souade Sow explores our dream of infinity and our relationship to the temporality of objects. She offers a profound reflection on our relationship to conservation, rooted in a militant anti-imperialist critique.

Jusqu’au 18 juillet 2026, Ceysson & Bénétière Saint-Étienne présente l’exposition « Forever ever », dédiée à F***y Souade Sow, première lauréate du programme Ceysson & Bénétière/Support.

À travers un ensemble d’œuvres multimédia et des matières naturelles vouées à évoluer dans le temps, F***y Souade Sow examine notre rêve d’infini et notre relation à la temporalité des objets. Elle établit une véritable réflexion autour de notre relation à la conservation, qui s’ancre dans une critique militante anti-impérialiste.

“Made up of hundreds of one-inch squares, the chromatic relationship we encounter in each of the painting’s nine squares is unique. Seeing becomes both an act of attention and discovery, the uncovering of patterns. In some of the paintings, when looking at the top or bottom squares, made up of two colors, the squares shift into diamonds and then back.”

« Composée de centaines de carrés d’un pouce de côté, la relation chromatique qui se dégage de chacun des neuf carrés du tableau est unique. Contempler l’œuvre devient à la fois un exercice d’attention et de découverte, une exploration des motifs. Dans certains tableaux, lorsqu’on observe les carrés du haut ou du bas — qui se composent de deux couleurs —, ceux-ci se transforment en losanges avant de reprendre leur forme initiale. »

Opening today in Wandhaff: Alain Biltereyst

Alain Biltereyst’s abstract works draw inspiration from the visual language of the contemporary urban environment: signage, typography, logos, commercial graphics, and design elements that shape our daily experience without always catching our attention. By extracting these forms from the visual flow of the city, the artist removes them from their original function and transforms them into autonomous compositions where color, rhythm, and structure become the true subjects of the work.

Les abstractions d’Alain Biltereyst prennent leur source dans le langage visuel de l’environnement urbain contemporain : signalétique, typographies, logos, graphismes commerciaux ou éléments de design qui façonnent notre expérience quotidienne sans toujours retenir notre attention. Prélevant ces formes dans le flux visuel de la ville, l’artiste les soustrait à leur fonction première pour les transformer en compositions autonomes où couleur, rythme et structure deviennent les véritables sujets de l’œuvre.

Antwan Horfee’s solo exhibition “oomph” opens tomorrow at Ceysson & Bénétière Wandhaff. Through a body of work that blends painting, drawing, film, popular culture, and urban imagery, the artist explores the pictorial realm as a way of inhabiting the world—an experience of displacement and transformation. His works give rise to a visual language rooted in the friction between images and the circulation of signs.

À travers un ensemble d’œuvres où se croisent peinture, dessin, cinéma, cultures populaires et imaginaires urbains, l’artiste explore le champ pictural comme une manière d’habiter le monde, une expérience du déplacement et de la transformation. Opening tomorrow in Lyon: David Tremlett, “A Continuity”

For over fifty years, David Tremlett has been building a unique body of work at the intersection of drawing, architecture and space. Created in pastel or graphite, his compositions transform the surface into a field of tensions, rhythms and movements. Colour never acts merely as a decorative element: it structures the space, directs the eye and physically alters perception.

Depuis plus de cinquante ans, David Tremlett construit une œuvre singulière à la frontière du dessin, de l’architecture et de l’espace. Réalisées au pastel ou au graphite, ses compositions transforment la surface en un champ de tensions, de rythmes et de circulations. La couleur n’y agit jamais comme un simple élément décoratif : elle structure l’espace, déplace le regard et modifie physiquement la perception.

mounir fatmi at the Villa Datris Foundation

Until November 1, 2026, the Villa Datris Foundation presents the exhibition “Mediterranean, Contemporary Odysseys,” which invites 74 artists from 20 countries to explore the soul of this mythical sea. Among them, mounir fatmi is exhibiting his work “The Machinery” (2010).

Jusqu’au 1er novembre 2026, la Fondation Villa Datris présente l’exposition “Méditerranée, Odyssées Contemporaines”, qui invite 74 artistes originaires de 20 pays à explorer l’âme de cette mer mythique. Parmi eux, mounir fatmi y expose son oeuvre The Machinery (2010).

“Nancy Graves breaks down famous or lesser-known paintings and blends different eras. For example, in ‘In Memory of My Feelings’ (1988)—whose title is taken from a poem by Frank O’Hara—she creates a dialogue between Greek marble, a Japanese print, and ancient Egyptian frescoes in a composition where the colors echo one another.”

« Nancy Graves fragmente des tableaux célèbres ou méconnus, mélange les époques.
