Nous apprenons avec tristesse la disparition de David Hockney.
La dernière fois que j’ai vu son travail, c’était en août 2023, au Museum of Contemporary Art à Tokyo.
Je me souviens encore de cette sensation rare : celle d’être face à une œuvre qui vous donne immédiatement le sourire.
Ses couleurs, sa liberté, son regard sur le monde avaient quelque chose de profondément vivant. L’exposition fait partie de ce que l’on a vu de plus beau au Japon.
Certains artistes marquent leur époque. D’autres changent notre façon de regarder. David Hockney faisait partie de ceux-là.
We were saddened to learn of the passing of David Hockney.
The last time I saw his work was in August 2023, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo.
I still remember that rare feeling: standing in front of artworks that instantly make you smile.
His colours, his freedom, and his unique way of looking at the world carried something profoundly alive. The exhibition remains one of the most beautiful artistic experiences we had during our time in Japan.
Some artists define their era. Others change the way we see the world.
David Hockney was one of them.
His work will continue to inspire, delight, and move generations to come.
