🔥WE COOKED WITH FIRE for the bass sound🔥

No compromises. No moderation. Just pure sonic excess.

We started with a gorgeous baritone bass, tracked through the AmS Amplifiers Bass 202, then reamped back into the same amp with a much more extreme setting… and a Boss HM-2 in the chain. ( YES SIR HM-2 ! )

the legendary chainsaw tone is absolutely incredible on bass. Huge brutal mids, massive , and a character that’s completely out of control ( in the best possible way.)

For the dirty tone, we ran it through a Marshall GUITAR cab loaded with 1970 Greenbacks ( Pulsonic cones) while the clean track went through a more traditional Ampeg bass cabinet.

🎙️ Microphones:
• FET-A47 on the clean tone
• A-21 on the distorted tone

To glue everything together:
- IGS One LA delivering some serious opto compression
- IGS Tube 825 EQ bringing out the mids with incredible class

The result? A bass sound unlike anything I’ve ever achieved before. Massive, aggressive, detailed, alive… and completely insane.

No poetry today.

Just ridiculously good bass tone. 😈

🟥Drum tracking has officially started for INFERAL! 🔥

A modern metal band with strong thrash metal influences: massive riffs and relentless energy!
For this session, we brought out the brand-new Custom snare by ASBA along with my beloved Simone kit ( Asba maple )

A few not-so-conventional recording techniques made their way into the setup:

🎙️ An ORTF close room configuration using a pair of A-Studio A-21 ribbon microphones.

🎙️ A distant kick-out microphone with the A-Studio FET-A47, placed well away from the kick drum to capture more room and a more natural sense of life.

🎙️ A pair of Griffon Microphones GMT-120 omni microphones, positioned off-center in the room also configured in ORTF, perfectly aligned with the kick/snare axis for a perfect cohérent image of the entire drum kit.

The drum kit itself sits in the lower-ceiling section of the studio, while the room microphones are placed in the higher-ceiling area. This allows the room to behave almost like a horn, helping the ambient microphones capture as much energy and impact as possible.

And honestly? The raw tracks are already sounding HUGE. 💥

🟥 Mixing for Altera’s new album is officially underway!

Another great project taking shape in the studio.

This album is being mixed through a hybrid workflow, combining the precision of the digital world with the character and depth of analog gear.

My newest addition, the IGS 825EQ, is already proving its worth on the mix bus alongside the TubeCore, bringing clarity, punch, and musicality to this session.

Also playing a key role are two rack units I never get tired of exploring: the Yamaha SPX90 and the TC Electronic M2000. Every time I dive into their presets, I discover new textures and spaces that continue to inspire me day after day.

I can’t wait for everyone to hear the final result.🔥

🔥Today, I’m receiving a true legend from IGS Audio : the famous EQ 825. ⬛️🟥🟧🟩🟦⬛️

Inspired by the legendary EQ from EAR, this 6-tube valve equalizer is simply incredible. From the very first listen, it clearly puts the analog vs digital debate back into perspective.

The musicality, depth, and warmth are absolutely unbelievable.
