It is with immense sadness that we write of the passing of Singing Days founder and international tenor, James Griffett who died peacefully on Sunday 11th August 2019. For many years, Jim co-directed both the Yorkshire and Provence Singing Days courses. As well as founding Singing Days, Jim also founded the choral ensemble Pro Cantione Antiqua, alongside Paul Esswood in 1968. A mere coincidence in renting a house in St Clair when PCA performed in the Monaco Easter Festival, led he and wife Cathy to buy a house there (long before the little chapel was even built) with the idea of running a singing course. Jim absolutely loved St Clair. The rest, as they say, is history. St Clair has laid its magic on the many singers who've been lucky enough to witness it. Jim undoubtedly enriched the lives of so many with his warm heart and passion for music. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. RIP Jim.
