Good morning! As this reel seems to have gotten popular, I wanted to introduce myself and address a few comments.
I’m Toni-Lou, the tattoo artist behind this piece, with almost 25 years of tattooing experience. For the past 10 years, I’ve worked alongside doctors through the French association Sœurs d’Encre, donating tattoos to these wonderful, courageous women.
My client chose not to have reconstruction after a double mastectomy following breast cancer. This was her very first tattoo, and she sat for 14 hours over two consecutive days—an incredible achievement, especially after everything she has already been through.
I understand the questions and concerns about tattoo inks, particularly colour. Tattooing is not without risks, and I take these concerns seriously. In her case, medical approval was obtained before we started, all ink are reach compliant as per strict EU standards.
As for the comments about her body or her choices, please remember there is a real person behind this tattoo. This is her body, her story, and her decision.
I take my work very seriously, and helping people feel more confident in their bodies is something I’m deeply passionate about.
