29.05.26 I was happy to perform Immersounds as the last time was in 2021 during lockdown.

It happened in the frame of in the .hegenheim for . Thank you for the invitation and the warmly welcome of the team. Thank you to the audience for coming and courageously enduring the heat under the roof!

Immersounds is an immersive performance exploring the acoustic potential of water, its universality, and its unique capacity to alter our perception of time. The work begins with a simple physical observation: as a container empties, hydrostatic pressure shifts, causing the rhythm of the flowing water and dripping drops to systematically slow down. By leveraging this organic, repetitive deceleration, the performance immerses the audience in a deep listening and a specific state of suspended, increasingly stretched time.

Dernière improvisation musicale du 10 mars 2026 à Tomblaine à La piscine avec Anna Briand au synthé, à la voix et moi aux objets, aux feuilles séchées et aux enceintes préparées. Il s'agissait d'une deuxième rencontre et l'écoute qu'il y a eu entre nous était une fois de plus au rendez-vous.

Sound Vanity,
acoustic performance, metal rods, washers, tea tray, objects, duration: 25 min.

During this performance, I thread metal washers onto a threaded rod, as if ‘stringing pearls’ (a French expression meaning to waste time on trivialities). The frequencies obtained by this gesture produce a constantly evolving sound flow that leads the listener into a state of non-ordinary consciousness. Sound Vanity is a metaphor for time, which, as they say, slips away. It creates a contrast between the vertical presence of a suspended body and the gravity of the washers. It reminds us that we are subject to gravity, like sand patiently flowing through an hourglass. It also connects us to an energy that comes from the sky and goes towards the earth. The gesture associated with the discs refers to prayer beads in different cultures - known as beads of thought, counting beads, etc. - and their slow descent along the rod gives us the illusion that a sound could be eternal. As the action unfolds, a tension arises and the perception of time stretching out gradually takes hold. At the end – after the long continuum – the silence creates a feeling of emptiness that reveals the sounds that were already present in the space. This rupture then reminds us of our ephemeral condition, our vanity.
