Je suis très touché que Pianist 🎹me consacre la couverture du numéro d'août-septembre. On y parle de Mendelssohn, qui m'accompagne depuis mon tout premier disque, il y a près de vingt ans, et de mon nouvel enregistrement pour : l'intégrale des Romances sans paroles.
Mendelssohn est un compositeur qui ne se livre jamais tout à fait. Il faut aller chercher l'émotion entre les lignes, dans les changements harmoniques, c'est ce que je confiais à Peter Quantrill durant notre entretien. J'ai hâte que vous puissiez découvrir les 48 Romances, dont beaucoup se cachent encore à l'ombre des trois ou quatre plus célèbres. L'album sera disponible le 16 octobre.

I'm truly touched that Pianist magazine 🎹 has given me the cover of their August–September issue. In it, we talk about Mendelssohn, who's been with me since my very first record, almost twenty years ago, and my new recording for Erato: the complete Songs without Words.
Mendelssohn is a composer who never fully reveals himself. You have to look for the emotion between the notes, in the harmonic changes — that's what I shared with Peter Quantrill in our conversation. I can't wait for you to discover all 48 Songs without Words, many of them still hiding in the shadow of the three or four best-known ones. The album will be released on 16 October.
