SHAXUL "Earshot & Eyesight I – Nath" (Pictavia) CD: Sixth disc by the solo project of Shaxul (MANZER). This unique album is a collaboration with Nath, a Pictavian woman artist who created 22 linocut prints inspired by a shared journey through Southern Africa, namely MANZER’s 2023 tour. Each of the 22 tracks was composed in response to one of these artworks. From Dark Folk to Black Metal, from traditional to experimental music and sounds, this is a truly special and immersive experience. It even features an exclusive MANZER song. Comes with a 32-page booklet featuring all the prints, detailed notes, and photos. Limited to 300 copies. LF006.

Last Wednesday, I performed with SHAXUL in a residence for disabled people. A wonderful and touching experience. 🤠 I uploaded a video with a selection of songs. 🎥 It includes cover songs of KRAKEN, Hemant Kumar and Townes Van Zandt. Check out the timestamps in the video description to jump to a specific song. 🎼

Having listened to the album, I must say I am honoured to have been a part of this. A journey is what it truly was. As an advocate for all things art, Shaxul's conversations surrounding culture, history, sound, philosophy - these factor into what make a 'collaboration.' A collaboration that struck me at a time filled with self-doubt and passion all at once. By the time the tracklist hit 'Chakkars,' I found myself tearing up for all the effort, energy, that this was worth. Not just from my side, but what someone, somewhere gave enough of a s**t to put this out, despite everything. Big ups to Shaxul, thank you for revering the fire of creativity. 🔥 Rasa&Bhava till the end.

Fifth disc by the solo project of Shaxul (MANZER / Ex Deathspell Omega). In a Dark Folk style, this album is mainly inspired by Kathak Goddess - Labonee Mohanta and India as a whole. It features 9 songs, including a cover from cult singer and composer Hemant Kumar from Bengal. Several artists from India and France were invited to perform on this disc. The lyrics are imbued with spirituality, feminism or personal emotions, and they are sung in English, French and Bengali.
