Putting up a show like NACHLE means wearing many hats.
From event coordinator to artistic director, from publicity manager to choreographer — it’s a lot. And yes, it can take a toll on my wellbeing.

So why do I keep doing it?

Because of the joy of the entire experience. Because I believe in bringing artists together and creating something meaningful for all of us.

I never really found anyone doing exactly what I’m doing now, so I had to start doing it myself.

You might feel pity — but please don’t. I choose this because I love it.

What I do need, though, is your support. Come and attend the show. I know many of you will — but please don’t wait until the last minute to buy tickets and keep me on the edge wondering.

To watch great performances at big venues like Volkshaus or Theater 11, one often has to pay a huge amount. What we’re doing is simply a smaller, intimate version of good art — made with the same passion.

So buy your tickets, come support the work, and if you can’t attend, at least spread the word.
Let’s keep this space alive for artists and audiences alike. 🎭

A vibrant glimpse into the workshop series with Jainil Mehta in Zürich, Switzerland ✨

On a gloomy, cloudy, and cold day, the studio came alive with warmth, rhythm, and unstoppable energy. Participants explored a beautiful blend of expressive movements, dynamic flow, and lively folk elements rooted in Indian dance traditions.

The electrifying session featured stunning choreographies to popular Bollywood songs, bringing together technique, storytelling, and pure joy.

While winter lingered outside, inside it was all about passion, culture, and celebration through dance. 💃🏽🔥

WHO IS JAINIL?

Jainil Mehta, a dancer and choreographer from Mumbai, India, considers himself a global citizen, frequently travelling between the US and India. He holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Southern California and, with over five years of professional experience and a lifelong passion for dance since the age of five, is shaping his journey in dance composition and education.

He has previously been a company member of the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company in New York and was selected as a choreographer for Joffrey Ballet’s Winning Works 2024. Currently, he is developing his unique movement style, J-Flow. Jainil also runs an online learning subscription platform, called I AM HOME, showcasing his choreographies, and has founded Rasa, his own gender-neutral clothing brand.

With a growing Instagram community of over 280K, Jainil is known for challenging gender norms through the movement. His work has been widely recognised, with features in various media.

While also being a social media influencer, he has taught numerous dance classes online and in person across India, as well as in Pakistan, China, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and the United States, to over 1,000 students.
