A colour lithograph titled "Woman in blue" (1952) by Spanish artist Francisco Bores (1898-1972), as published in R***e Verve Volume 7, Nos. 27/28, page 104. Francisco Bores was an important figure of 20th-century European art. His presence was fundamental in the second wave of Spanish artists who arrived in Paris in the 1920s, in which he included a.o. Pablo Picasso, Ginés Parra, Pedro Flores and Antoni Clavé. The R***e Verve was published by Teriade, Paris, and the lithographs in the R***e were printed by Mourlot. The work is signed 'Bores' in the lower left corner of the plate. Dimensions: 35.4 x 26.3 cm. Framed.

Entrez dans le Rigaud d'autrefois !

A Perpignan, depuis l’ouverture du musée, fondé en 1820 et ouvert en 1833, ce sont des artistes peintres qui ont successivement pris la responsabilité des collections communales en tant que conservateur. Le peintre Martin Vivès sera le dernier de cette génération. Cet accrochage temporaire lui rend hommage, ainsi qu’à l’un de ses prédécesseurs, Louis Delfau.

Vooraankondiging: ter gelegenheid van de 160e geboortedag van Camille Claudel organiseert Musée Camille Claudel een tentoonstelling waarbij Sakountala (gips) uit 1888 centraal staat. Dit werk waarvan L'Abandon (brons), Vertumne & Pomone (marmer) en La Niobide blessée (gips & brons) een echo zijn, is een van Claudels meesterwerken! Dat wordt een ritje naar Nogent-sur-Seine .....

This week we had the Olympic flame passing through Avignon so I placed a poster with a nice Olympic image in the gallery window. Furthermore we had a surprise visit from the Netherlands again - a good business friend I know since almost 30 years, Jos van Doorn (MARIN) and his wife dropped in. Always happy with these surprise visits and it's good to 'update' on where we are in life. Alas we forgot to make a photo.

Deze week passeerde de Olympische vlam in Avignon, dus heb ik een poster met een mooie Olympische afbeelding in de etalage van de galerie neergezet. Verder hadden we weer een verrassingsbezoek uit Nederland - een goede zakenvriend die ik al sinds bijna 30 jaar ken, Jos van Doorn (MARIN) en zijn vrouw kwamen langs. Ik ben altijd blij met deze verrassingsbezoeken en het is goed om 'bij te praten' over waar we staan in het leven. Helaas vergeten een foto te maken.

Hervé di Rosa is a French artist who was born in Sète in 1959 and who brings to life unique characters who populate his work in the form of paintings, sculptures, installations and animations. Di Rosa is a key figure in the "Figuration Libre" movement of French painters. In 2000, Di Rosa built a Museum dedicated to Modest Art in Sète, France. This lithograph is entitled "Bombardements" and was made in 2000. Di Rosa, horrified by the Russian bombings of Grosny in February 2000, revealed the new motto "For a New Russian Flag!" It is signed in pencil "H DIROSA" and numbered "1/50". Dimensions: 24.5 x 31 cm (sheet). Not framed.
