Butterflies and Borderlands: Perfomance poetry ritual: In the garden of Ceccano Library Guirlande will perform a poetry-ritual, and invite the audience to participate in a multilingual call-and-response reading, creating a guirlande of the duos manifesto and texts inspired by Ethel Adnan, Danielle Collobert, Alejandra Pizarnik, Gloria E. Anzaldúa, Inger Christensen and others connecting precarious lives and acting as a transformation of narratives.
Guirlande will perform on the death anniversary - and the birthday - of the poet and activist Danielle Collobert on July 23rd. Collobert’s writing is speaking to the thematization within the performance, of lives wrested from death and annihilation through embodied poetry.
The performance is dedicated to the Palestinian People - and to Gisèle Pelicot.

Guirlande is a performance writing duo with Carla Rafaella and Sara Hamming. Across languages and voices, Guirlande creates decolonizing transformative textual rituals and unfolds them in your side street, in gardens, by the water and in front of the papal palace like butterfly wings. Inspired by literary works and multilingual patterns, Guirlande lets writing speak through embodied gestures, where poetry becomes body, and body becomes poetry.
