I thought it was about time to introduce myself!

Hi, I’m Amy.

I’m British, slightly obsessed with beautiful paper, and the person behind Silkpen.

I spend my days creating custom wedding stationery, drawing botanical illustrations, and dreaming up ways to make paper feel personal and meaningful. What started with a calligraphy pen from a little shop in Oxford somehow turned into a business that now connects me with wonderful clients all over the world.

Life these days looks a little different than it did when I started. I now share my studio time with my 16-month-old daughter, Lyra, a very large Irish Wolfhound named Felix, and my husband Ethan, who has patiently supported every creative rabbit hole I’ve ever disappeared down. He’s been my biggest cheerleader from the very beginning and is still the first person I ask when I need a second opinion on a design.

I love beautiful gardens, old architecture, botanical illustration, handwritten notes, and anything thoughtfully made. Most of all, I love creating work that feels personal and tells a story.

I’ve been a little quiet on here lately. Between moving, motherhood, and a lot of big projects heading out the door, I’ve not been very good at sharing what I’ve been working on!

One recent project I really enjoyed was this save the date suite for a wedding at the Waldorf Astoria New York.

The couple wanted to lean into the building’s Art Deco architecture, so we created a custom blind embossed design for the border. With guests travelling from around the world, they chose to send their save the dates early, making it the perfect introduction to the celebration.

I loved working with this colour palette, and I think the combination of silver foil and blind embossing worked so beautifully together!

Another classic save the date, featuring a hand-drawn venue illustration, gold foiled onto handmade paper. Each piece is entirely bespoke — a custom venue sketch turned into a timeless keepsake, capturing the character of a meaningful family home.

The brief for this suite was “Bridgerton, but with a modern freshness.”
We incorporated irises that the bride plans to use in her table arrangements and they bring in a softer, more contemporary feel, and paired them with a lilac and green palette to keep everything light and fresh. The acanthus scrollwork adds that romantic, old-world detail — a little bit Baroque, a little bit Victorian — which really gives it that Bridgerton feel. Very fun to bring this all together after months of work!

Gianna wanted to feature hellebores across her wedding suite and save the dates for her winter wedding. Blind embossing is such a lovely subtle way to feature personal floral or botanical elements.
