News of March!

Dear adventurers,

We are currently working on the multiplayer mode of Dungeon Twister App.

As you are looking forward to burn trolls with beautiful fireballs and you are we patient, we decided to offer you an appetizer to you, DungeonTwister App backers:

For the online multiplayer mode DT uses services from "Board Game Arena" (BGA). The news is that the multi player part on the web site is ready and we just need to press the red button.

We decided to offer a free access, from today March 14th, to this version of online DT. You can use it on any browser.

Note: unlike most games on BGA, DT will not be free… but as you backed DT App project we offer you an unlimited free access to it! To get your free access you just need a BGA (http://boardgamearena.com) account with the same email address of your Ulule account.

Hi Twisters!

We met difficulties lately but we have a very good news this week.
Our programmer started another project in September so was working part time on Dungeon Twister. He did an excellent work and I thank him for hos involvement in the project. He provided us a solid base for the game and significantly improved the gamer experience with his knowledge in game design. He will continue to work with us part time.

The big news is: a new programmer joined the team. He is a board game fan and is playing Go at a good level.

For Dungeon Twister, we prioritize the elements below and aim end of December 2015 to deliver the App for beta tester backers:
- Finalization of the original game: implementation of last sounds and graphical assets, bug correction
- Finalization of the multi player mod

We plan the official launch of the gamer at the beginning of 2016 with:
- add of a tutorial
- add of the English language

The implementation of new content like Paladin and Dragon, the goodies and the adventure mod will be done later.

We have never been so close to the goal and we thank you for your support, which motivate us a lot!

Hi Twisters,

Some fresh news on the Dungeon Twister App project.

First multi player mode, we have good news: we signed a partnership with Board Game Arena (BGA). With BGA you can play board games online with the whole world.
The objective with BGA is to have many players connected all day long to avoid waiting time. So you will be able to play Dungeon Twister on your tablet or smartphone against players in front of their computer.
The connection to the server is not done yet but we are testing sending and receiving orders.

Regarding the IA tests are not convincing. A smartphone cannot calculate enough iterations in 5 seconds for the IA to play interesting actions. We are considering other ways to play solo like in Dungeon Twister Prison.

We are also working a lot on the debug. The implementation of the starter box of Dungeon Twister will be finished soon.

And finally the most expected news: the launch date. We plan to submit it to Apple at the end of October. The App will be published at the same date on the App Store and Google Play.

Hi Twisters,

Some fresh news on the Dungeon Twister App project.

The results of the AI are disappointing... The more simulation there is, the stronger the AI is. For the moment, with a smartphone, the number of simulation is not sufficient to have a strong AI. A possible solution is to calculate on a separate sever all the simulation and push the result on the smartphone/tablet, but players will have to be connected to play with this type of AI. So we will not use this solution. We continue the program optimization to speed up calculation.

For the multi-player part we are setting up a very relevant solution. If every thing is ok and we do not face big technical issue we will have very good news for you this summer ;-)

Bonjour tout le monde,

Certains l’auront remarqué : nous n’avons pas communiqué sur le prochain tournoi Dungeon Twister qui devait se tenir ce mois-ci. Et pour cause : nous étions dans l’attente d’une solution concernant l’hébergement de celui-ci.

En effet, la magnifique salle qui accueillait jusqu’à présent nos tournois bimestriels était sur la sellette depuis plusieurs semaines, une société acquéreuse ayant manifesté son intérêt pour ces lieux. Nous avons aujourd’hui la confirmation : l’association Lutèce Cup a cédé la salle à cette société et les prochaines dates de tournois sont pour le moment gelées en attendant qu’une solution soit trouvée.

Nous sommes donc à la recherche d’une salle si possible aussi spacieuse et accessible que la précédente, dans laquelle nous pourrons continuer nos rencontres ludiques. Si vous avez vent d’une telle perle, vous savez ce qu’il vous reste à faire : envoyer-nous un petit message !

Dears Twisters,

We've been quite discreet about the latest progress on the project but of course we keep on working on its finalization. Here are some significant points:

- The graphics are almost done. As you will see from the screenshots below, we completed some menus (options and items ...). To sum it up, we've completed approximately 85% of the task.
- 3/4 of sounds have been recorded and integrated to the app!
- The AI model has been developed and is currently being connected to the game. Tests will be done in the coming days!
- Next steps are: the multiplayer mode and the animations.

The beta version scheduled for late March, unfortunately falls behind. The task is more complicated than expected. We are aware that the wait is long to each of you and we do our best to reduce this delay.
We'll be happy to answer your questions here or at the Dungeon Twister Tournament that will take place Saturday, the 11th of April.
