Very proud to present my student Luke Blackwell with his Black Sash Level 3 certificate, which he has worked hard to achieve.
Luke continues to move forward in his Wing Chun journey, and I am very proud of his dedication, progress, and achievements. He is also developing into a wonderful and knowledgeable Ip Man Wing Chun Instructor.
I look forward to helping him reach new heights, not only as a martial artist, but also as a capable Ip Man Wing Chun Sifu.
I am passing on to Luke the Wing Chun that was taught to me by my Sifu, GM Roland Tong, close friend of Ip Man and long-time student from 1954–1972.

Structure Before Strength.

Just finished a great lesson with Rasmus, and it felt like the perfect time to wear this shirt. In Wing Chun, this isn’t just a catchy slogan — it is the entire foundation of the system.

If you rely on muscle, you will eventually meet someone stronger than you. That is a biological fact. But if you rely on structure… correct angles, proper alignment, and a solid root — you take muscle out of the equation.

Good structure allows you to absorb force without collapsing and redirect it without fighting force with force. It means your power comes from the ground up, not just from your shoulders. When your structure is right, you don’t need to be the biggest person in the room to hit hard or defend effectively.

Strength fades with age and fatigue. Structure stays with you.

Get the foundation right first. The rest will follow.
