About:
GLEN E. FRIEDMAN, one of the most important photographers of his generation, is known for his influential and iconic images of rebellious artists from classic skateboarding, punk, and hip-hop cultures. As a true artist his process was much more incendiary than it was documentary. Friedman, first published at the age of fourteen, has produced over one hundred record covers, countless magazine pages, and almost a dozen books. His work is now included in a number of notable international collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institution.

[3537 JULY PROGRAM] La Couleur des Ténèbres, by Paulo Overdo (.iverno)

The exhibition is inspired by Jun'ichiro Tanizaki's aesthetic treatise, "L'Éloge de l'Ombre", a text that highlights themes such as a taste for solitude and the traces of time, chiaroscuro, eroticism, the evanescence of bodies and melancholy. The artists in the exhibition have each interpreted this text in their own way, creating new works (paintings, sculptures, photographs, sound pieces) as well as performances and concerts.

[JUNE/JULY PROGRAM] LA DERNIÈRE VISITE - Chapitre II by Eliott Nasrallah

Discover Eliot Nasrallah's (.nasrallah) poignant photographic journey confronting fear and capturing memories through Beirut from 2015 to 2019. “La Dernière Visite” encapsulates the essence of a country on the brink of destruction, preserving fragments of a fading world that lingers in his heart, solidifying the inevitability of a final pilgrimage.

About
Ever since he was a teenager, Eliot Nasrallah has dreaded the idea of a final trip to the country of his origins. Lebanon's political and economic instability is frightening, because of the "goodbyes" it portends. His grandfather and his family made these hand signals, the fear at the tip of their fingers of a country that is giving in to its destruction. He knows the lack and the disappearance through their stories, the inaccessibility of a place, the ineffable powerlessness, those pains in the chest when they tell them. Between 2015 and 2019, Eliot photographed his time in Beirut. Images to extract the real, like pebbles slipped into the memory box so as not to forget anything, so as to have them always and beyond. Pieces, extracts, whole worlds. The idea of a last journey is no longer an idea.

Eliot Nasrallah lives and works in Paris. His research focuses on the processes by which images appear and disappear. Moving back and forth between silver and digital processes, his practice explores various reproduction techniques based on experiments with the photographic medium. Between alternative prints, book-like objects and the design of handmade devices.
