Since 1983 the Korsholm Music Festival has invited leading Nordic and international artists to perform during these wonderful summer weeks with music ranging from baroque compositions to classical chamber works and new music. liacus. She is now arranging her third chamber music festival in Vaasa and Korsholm together with the dedicated festival team. This year's theme is called Wild, free and lonely. We dive in to to life of Ludwig van Beethoven and as a contrast to the happy 20-ties that maybe always wasn´s to happy. Theme composer of the year is Swedish Mats Larsson Gothe, whose music will be heard in several concerts. One new piece for solo violin will be premiered! Finnish celebrated composer Sebastian Fagerlund will be presenting a new piece that is commissioned for bassoon and Stringquartet. New music will be composed and performed in the festival by our nominent composers. Among the musicians there will be the best Finnish chamber musicians together with foreign virtuoses. We also have a Festival Café, where You can get information and listen to classical music played by students and professionals in the afternoon. Look for our café in the middle of Vaasa, Café Loftet. In addition to the various concerts, we also offer group excursions and different kinds of highlights. To all concerts outside the city of Vasa there are return bus transports to/from the City Hall about one hour before the concerts to a cost of only 5 €/person. We also have great group reductions on tickets and program services.
