Feeling very grateful after the opening of my solo exhibition ♡

Thank you to all my friends and friends of friends, who came to celebrate with me. It meant so much to see so many familiar and new faces in the room. Living in Berlin over the years has brought so many wonderful people into my life and nights like this remind me how lucky I am for the community and good friendships I’ve built here.

The paintings will remain on view until March 20.

This is a personal invitation to my solo exhibition at Denizen in Berlin.

The show brings together paintings I created over the past five years while living and working across five countries: Finland, Germany, France, Iceland and Italy. The works were made in different studios, art residencies and seasons. They carry traces of places I fell in love with, and landscapes that shaped both my memory and imagination.
For me, these paintings are about dreaming, transformation, and the quiet spaces between departure and arrival.

While in Goa for my yoga teacher training, I began a small drawing series. I couldn’t resist painting one of the most beautiful trees I had ever seen (see slide 3) 🪾💚🧘🏻‍♀️

We received pictures all the way from Alaska from the exhibition “dis/comfort in the North”, where me & are well honored to participate with our video work “The Retriever” (2023).

Curated by Katie Ione Craney as part of her MA graduate work in the Arctic & Northern Studies program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, College of Liberal Arts, the exhibition asks how Northern identity, colonialism, and climate change can be imagined and interpreted through layers of comfort and discomfort.

Thank you to everyone involved for creating this thoughtful space and for letting The Retriever be part of it.🤍

Tomorrow afternoon, I will hold a participatory workshop titled “Elemental Presence: Expanding Perception through Art”. It will be a sensory and contemplative experience that combines drawing, sound and awareness of the surrounding space.

Following that, at 6:00 PM in the Church of San Rocco, the final exhibition of the residency will open, featuring a selection of paintings and a video art project that I created during my stay in here.
